Dropped guard trait sometimes doesn't draw a card

Just played a quick draw, and Dropped guard didn't replace my trait. I checked that I wasn't near draw limit (had 5 more left). I took notice, and played on. Later, same thing happened again, in the same game. I thought, OK this card was prolly broken in the latest build. But the 3rd and 4th time I drew the card, it replaced itself like it should.

Did you have all 6 other cards in deck?

No. Maybe that's why this happened - empty deck syndrome. But if I play Dropped guard, wouldn't it instantly be added to the deck and be drawn again until I hit the draw limit?

I believe it checks for draw before the trait goes back into the deck, so 2 traits could cause endless draw, but not one. Of course I'm answering that off the top of my head so I might be remembering incorrectly.

It would make for an explanation that makes sense so I'm just gonna go with that. Cheers

Or the code could have a check to prevent infinite trait cycling.

It doesn't, except in the case where the trait is the only thing going into the deck after playing it. I know because I've cycled out my draw limit many times in many games.

Yeah, in general, if your deck is empty, you can't draw the card causing you to draw a card. For instance if you have 0 cards in deck and 0 cards in discard, and you cast Inspiration on yourself, Inspiration will go to your discard and you won't draw anything.
