Today I played my first QD, and got really tired of how boring the drafting phase is. It takes about half of time spent on the match. Once you pick a card, you have to wait for your opponent to pick, and you don't see what does he pick. You don't even see your next cards so this time is just wasted. So, making drafting simultaneous won't hurt gameplay in any way, but will make it amuch faster (so everyone will most likely be able to start 4th match in 2 hours, even if all 3 matches end by timeout (they will last about 30-35 min)). Player who finished draft first will just wait a bit for the opponent, and his timer stops until game starts.
Not a bad suggestion, but entirely impossible in our current system. Would require a lot of coding work to make this change (either somehow make it so that players can take their turns at the same time, or implement a new card-selection screen). The 'beauty' of Quick Draw as it were was that Farbs was able to build it on top of existing systems very easily. I won't say that we'll never have a better limited format, or at least a better UI for this one, but we definitely won't have it soon, due to the size of our team and our priorities. Well, I understand. I think if it could be implemented easily, it would already be implemented - you guys seem to be really talented and experienced developers. Thanks for your work anyway. May be we will see new drafting feature in the future.
One thing that would help a lot and shouldn't be too hard to code would be to draw your next set of cards at the end of your turn instead of the beginning, so you can look them over while your opponent is choosing.
