My overall takeaway is this: The armor removal cards you can get on wizards are better than the warrior ones, because they aren't conditional. They also don't get blocked by as many of the en vogue blocks, and they have 6+ range instead of 1. 2x Akon's Amulets give you better armor removal reliability than a Sundersong, for minor tokens instead of major ones, at range 6. They're also minor tokens which means you can start using them in early modules for SP, and they are viable throughout. It's also common so it costs you 5 gold to acquire them, not 2500. Save your gold and just bring a wizard to modules or MP if you expect armor, and kit him out with appropriate removal.

Outstanding advice. Did you read what I wrote at all? The whole sense of Sundersong is getting armor removal without sacrificing all your build for that. If you were playing war-war-pri, you wouldn't have to build the completely new party to defeat armor. Next, do I have to mention that the wizard's armor removal cards deal no damage (Okay, there is a card for 1 damage, but it destroys only one armor)? This means they're truly "silver bullets": if you encounter no armor, they do nothing, while Sundering Strike still deals 8 damage (10 with MF). Do I have to remind that the maps favoring armor are usually the maps that have no place for the wizards (don't remember the name of the map with three pits where chars should fight one-by-one)?
Cardhunter is all about playing the best items. Sundersong clearly isn't the weapon you should spend your last gold on, but if you have a lot of gold, it's worth buying. Unless you're going to throw the gold at your enemies instead, of course :)

Beater 4?/3. It's a nice weapon for just one token, especially with Crusher, but it has absolutely no tech, so even the Crusher builds usually prefer Porior's Nimble Mace. Still, I can imagine a build based on Focused Crishing with 1-2 Beaters.

Hrillia's Healing Ring 4/4. All cards are good, but I usually prefer Jygpin's Healing Ring unless I really don't know where to spend the yellow tokens. This happens rarely though: priests have lots of good weapons for yellow tokens.
Mindsplinter Staff 4/4. Again, all cards are good, but they don't have good synergy. Flash Of Agony requires Savage Curse, while the electrical spells damage will increase just slightly (in percentage). As Peonprop claimed, people are playing only "Block Melee" cards now, so "hard to block" on electrical spells mean almost nothing :)
Petochl's Sword 5/4. A very very good alternative for Sundersong. Not that focused, but cheaper and more versatile. Feinting Strike has the good chances even versus Parry, though it wouldn't discard the Parry as Unnerving Strike. Highly recommended to buy, especially if you don't have it yet.

They'd better make the better blocks, and the Bejeweled wouldn't be so good anymore.

Dude I love that one of the best items is common. I am on a constant crusade against rarity signifying higher power level. :)

Sometimes in SP, I like to use Trog Melter because it removes armor even if it's blocked.

BTW, I checked the Daily Deal on my daughter's account and there was nothing special today, but then on a whim I checked her Randamir's. Frickin' VP in there. But at her renown, it's 25,000 gold. LOL. I don't even have one. Sad face.

    Xentoc's Maul
    Peon's Prescription for Prodigious Multiplayers
Xentoc's Maul is a vastly inferior Spear Of The Cozqui. Starling Strike, Controlled Overswing, and Soothing Darkness are all cards that should be avoided if possible. When they're good they're great but more often than not you are looking at an underpowered attack, a card disadvantage attack, and a way too slow delayed heal spell. In general, you want your cards to be good in any situation. Alternatively, you can play situationally good cards if you can use other parts of your build to maximize their potential or you expect the metagame to be weak to them. The iffy cards on Xentoc's Maul do not lend themselves well to being built around or attacking metagames. Would not purchase.

    Peon's Perspective for Penny-Pinching Singleplayers
By the time you are able to use a major token, mobs damage you faster than you can heal. It is much more effective to win the damage race by armoring up or better yet, using buffs or bigger attacks. Cards like Team Heal shouldn't be avoided but they better be supplementing powerful card like Mighty Bludgeon on Healing Hand Mace. Xentoc's Maul has Team Heals as the defining cards. Would not purchase.

    Substitutes
    Gray Blade (R) (majortoken)(minortoken), Godtouched Spear (E) (majortoken)(majortoken), Healing Hand Mace (majortoken)(majortoken)

    Axamander's Ringmail
Badjeera's Black Relic- Worst of the pure vamp divine items but only by 1 point of damage.
    Noral's Cleansing Relic

Get her as far into the campaign as possible. If you can't get all the way through, play MP. It gives +1 renown for every 3 wins. It may be a redneck thing, but we always want our daughters well armed and trained to use their weapons.

Don't run through the campaign. Play multiplayer for renown to preserve the storyline.

I've thought we were going to discuss the Sundersong playability. And the base for any discussion is understanding the opponent's arguments and trying to beat them with your counter-arguments.
Do you see any sense in "arguments" like "I prefer wizards instead of warriors versus armor, so I don't need the stupid warrior's weapons"? Let's imagine that BM created some new armor cards that are very effective, and the warriors start to using them massively. Then, of course, the wizard parties will start to run more armor removal. Probably some players would switch to wizards, but the wizards wouldn't play enough armor removal to make the armored builds extinct, since they would lose to the other wizards then. Would that metagame make Sundersong useless? Surely not, since the warrior parties would need some anti-armor too!
BTW, I am dreaming about such metagame. The idea of making Harnesses permanent was really good. A character cannot have too much Harnesses in his deck anyway, and there are enough anti-armor in the game to ensure that isn't going to be "overpowered", but it could be a viable and very interesting strategy that could lead to a versatile metagame.

Xentoc's Maul 5?!/5?! This Maul reminds a Demigod's Hammer, though it's less focused. In MP, this Maul is at least useful for the wonderful healing and two block-discarding attacks. Okay, we don't need block removal much now, especially on a priest, and Controlled Overswing is bad, as well as Soothing Darkness... if you don't know how to use it. This is an extremely effective support weapon for a pri-wiz-wiz team, as the mentioned Hammer. The attacks don't mean much, but the healing really do. A Savage Curse team with a lot of self-damaging cards like Flash Of Agony will enjoy the healing, even Soothing Darkness. Best of all, the Maul costs only (majortoken)(minortoken), allowing you to save the yellow token if you can't afford Demigod's Hammer or Healing Hand Mace. No other weapon for that tokens offer the same level of healing (Peonprop's suggestion of Gray Blade as an alternative is just laughable, as there are only two healing cards, and the missing card is the most powerful). Thus, I recommend buying the Maul, and, of course, I've bought it myself long ago. Such weapons can eventually allow you to run all three Skull Of Savage Iljin, moving all the healing to the weapons, armor and skills, both in SP and MP. I even consider bying a second copy now :)

Axamander's Ringmail 4/4. It's nice, but worse than the alternatives like Untouchable Mail.
Badjeera's Black Relic 4/4. Again, it's nice, but worse than Wuuna's Vampiric Shroud.
Noral's Cleansing Relic 5?/5? Great and very focused item for a Volcano-based party.

Don't miss Superb Evasion in the rares section. This awesome skill can provide great advantage to your elven party if you have all three. Elvish Scamper is even better than the old Team Run if you play all three elves, and your opponent has none, which is very likely :) And you will have six of them!

My rating shows only the power/cost ratio of the item in the right build (not necessary in yours!) '?' means the need of a special build (or a special map). '!' means the best item for its cost, in its category or essential for the build.
