I don't think that the AI in MP and in SP have been checked lately - things like Cardotroon using his firestorm on his first turn and burning only his team or when his whole team is at full health or just 1 character is damaged, or while playing through the maps - in The Defence of Wood-Home, in the last map the AI kept passing until the last round & couldn't move so i won from the VP squares If a Staff Member is reading this can you plz have a look at the scripting and maybe change it a bit - but if you don't then its just easyer for us players to win
I always thought that kind of stuff is 100% deliberate. The GM is making bad decisions, like how Melvin is always accusing Gary. It's super obvious in the earlier modules. Sometimes the AI very clearly gives you a break to ignore mistakes or give you some room. I'm absolutely OK with this. This game is hard enough, punishing just one mistake at a time.
If you play lots of Card Hunter it stops being challenging at one point & some people what a challenge! (but i still dont mind free wins )
Certainly some of it is deliberate. The GM sometimes throws in a random pass to be unpredictable, trying to upset your plans... even if it is standing on lava! (Unpredictable? Check. Upsets my plans? Not so much ) I think that's okay (at least for SP), as is crazy gnomes and goblins killing their own troops by trying to help with red/white cards. However, I've experienced a few instances lately of repeated passes either when I've been happily sat earning VPs or when there have been enemy models stood on lava with move cards still in their hands. Only a staff member could tell you if this is working as intended but I do wonder if it needs tweaking a little.
yes i agree that there is probably a script which tells the AI to pass to "upset our plans" & i agree that it needs tweaking but i am happy to hear its not just me with the random passes
