Yes, slide effects don't change facing. But the target of a successful attack is supposed to turn to face the attacker unless that attack is keyworded as "stealthy".
That "turn to face attacker" quality was in fact removed from all those effects. That's an old link, and the cards in question have since changed a lot, but I bring it up because the word "Stealthy" has been meaningless for that long. The few cards (Maze . . . ) that used it could just use another phrase like "Push" to get the same effect. (And now only Ooze Maze uses "Stealthy" anymore.)
I agree that Stealthy has no use any more. It might one day if we create an attack card that isn't a push/slide and also doesn't trigger turning. I took it off Ooze Maze. I think there's a good argument that Slide should change the facing of the target. I don't recall the reasoning why we stopped it doing that in the first place. I think it was probably because Slide is defined as "Move target character <x>. Do not change its facing". That could be fixed by removing the qualifier from the slide rules and adding "Set the target's facing" to the Push rules. As for why we have Slide and Push - Slide is just quicker and simpler for the user, i.e. it doesn't require manually setting the facing, so I prefer to use Slide except for cards where setting the facing is important. Ideally Push would probably be replaced by Slide on cards like Teleport Other.
Slide and Push . . . and one more: Slide Back (e.g., Bash). I'm glad that you're taking a look at these.
I agree it would make more sense to have targets move facing after a bash. But since bash is still not quite there yet, it's a nice side effect (unless you WANT him to change facing)
