I'm receiving error 2032 when I try to log in to the client, but it was working fine previously. I can't see anything about that error code anywhere..? Cheers, Brian.
It was weird, couldn't log in for about 3/4 of an hour, and then it started working fine again. Can any dev tell me what that error code means?
It looks like Error #2032 could be one of several things: Incorrect proxy settings Website is restricted in your Internet Options settings An error with IE automatic cookie handling Some other IE add-on is causing an error Flash player is out of date Registry corruption Firewall settings are preventing the connection I'd probably start by making sure you're on the correct version of Flash Player (11.5). After that, check that your Internet Options aren't blocking the site, and if you use a proxy that your proxy is working correctly. Beyond that it gets a little more complex to correct the other problems.
Thanks for the reply, but I'm pretty sure it's not any of those, since it worked fine, then stopped working for an hour, then started working again. It's just failed tonight as well, I can't get in right now. I'll see if it recovers in around an hours time. It was working fine 20 minutes ago, and I've made no changes to flash, chrome or proxy etc. I posted about it in the bugs forum, because I thought this might be the wrong place, but feel free to delete that post.
It's fundamentally an error that comes from Flash when it's having trouble streaming in content from the server. It could be there's a slowdown on your connection when this is happening and we're not handling it as gracefully as we should be. I'll add it to our list to look at handling that error better. Next time this comes up, give a try pinging the game server to see how your connectivity looks.
It's doing it right now Ping looks fine. No dropped packets; stable at around 300ms. I'll have to try it again later to se if it's different when it's working. 300 does seem pretty slow - I get <50 to Microsoft, Reddit and Google but >300 to game.cardhunter.com and www.cardhunter.com. Are you guys on a slow connection? Edit: Hmm. Less than 50 to Australia.com and apple.com as well, but 200+ to Steam. Maybe my ISP is de-prioritising packets to gaming services at peak times? That would suck. Having said that, Steam works fine, so as you say it may be in how you handle what you perceive as flaky connections?
Connectivity from my location to our servers is about the same as it is to Reddit, Google, etc. It's quite possible it's something in the middle. It's likely that the larger sites are hosted off edge-cached networks, while we aren't (yet), which may explain the difference. 300ms shouldn't cause streaming errors. At what point in the game do you see these? How far do you get before you get the error?
I just got in, pings are the same (300 ish) but it appears to work now. Weird. It was about an hour though, just like last night. I'll see what happens tomorrow
Sorry, I meant to say: It happens before the login screen, just when connecting to the client when you get the black screen with the progress bar. The bar gets to about 50%ish and then I get the error.
It's worth noting that I am in, but it is very very slow and many of the graphics are missing. In the interests of science, I quit and reload the page and did get in, but still have the missing graphics and slowness
FYI - this still happens at about the same time every night (I can't get in right now). Between 7pm and 8pm (ish) NZ time. Really weird.
Any chance its your isp being overloaded? Or if you use a wireless connection it could be a wavelength flood.
I mean, it COULD be my isp I guess, but I'm highlighting it here as if it's a flaky connection, BM would probably like to know so they can strengthen their code that handles poor connections. 11pm, it just went down again :-(
It happened to me last night, about 20:00 GMT, I got to the black screen and the 50% loading bar, but no error. That's probably due to the fact I didn't wait long enough for the error to pop up.
