I think you get them for both, but you can only use them in single player if your characters are high enough level. I could be wrong, though.
You get them for single player as well, only limitations should be having slots unlocked due to level and talent req. Think there was a post about it being a lot of talent stuff in packs, so mostly useful in mp unless you're a high level sp player.
You can use any item, as long as you can pay the talent cost. Most items are zero talents, but some high(er) level stuff requires at least one talent. The little circles next to the gear slots are there to hold talents. You can have 1, 1.5 or 2 talent gear and you are given one talent per level after level 6. A full set of maxed out gear costs 12 talents, so you'd have to be 18th level to use them all and at the moment, the only 18th level characters are in Multi-player. You can, however, use one or more items in Single player mode if you have the talents available, you could slot a single talent item at lvl 7, a double talent one or two single talent items at lvl 8, etc. This picture is for illustration only!
Wait, what? 1.5 talents? Am I missing something, or are you confusing different types of talents for "halves"?
Most likely hes confusing the squares for halves as i have not seen a single halve and you seam just as confused as me about the existence of them.
Yes, I have some kit that has a round and square talent requirement, which I think of as 1.5. That confusion is result of posting at 03:00 in the AM.
I tend to think of Squares as Circles+ as well. Was an interesting choice to have them count for the same thing.
Uh . . . I'm not completely sure that all confusion has been banished by now. But it's interesting how we got into this situation: where did we get this psychology that a square is a "fraction" of something else? Perhaps Blue Manchu should change the shapes around a little and see how they look. I mean, I haven't seen the talents higher than bronze, and no one who does just multiplayer will ever use ones higher than that. For all we know, "gold" or "royal purple" or "glowing" talents (whatever they are) look obviously different. But for where we are now, I think bronze needs some of that "obviousness" to avoid this problem.
