Reflexive Teleport triggered for own-team's Accelerated Thought

Here's an interesting exchange that Amy just had within her own team:

    BATTLE LOG: Player=Amy,Scenario=Temple Tussle,Room=Sir Knight vs Amy,RoomID=7899,Event=PlayAction,Action=Accelerated Thought,Instigator=Blessed Anrime,Targets=Mingolborn Pain-bringer
    BATTLE LOG: Player=Amy,Scenario=Temple Tussle,Room=Sir Knight vs Amy,RoomID=7899,Event=TriggerFail,Trigger=Reflexive Teleport,TriggeringActor=Mingolborn Pain-bringer,AffectedActors=,TriggerType=Action,TriggerLocation=Hand
    BATTLE LOG: Scenario=Temple Tussle,Room=Sir Knight vs Amy,RoomID=7899,Msg=Mingolborn Pain-bringer took 5 damage
BATTLE LOG: Scenario=Temple Tussle,Room=Sir Knight vs Amy,RoomID=7899,Msg=Attaching Accelerated Thought to Mingolborn Pain-bringer

Amy's character cast Accelerated Thought on another of her characters; specifically one holding cards like Hard To Pin Down and Reflexive Teleport. Reflexive Teleport triggered and tried to give him a free move even though it was an ally "attacking."

We've long known that casting a card on your ally should not trigger Blocks. Reflexive Teleport may not be a Block (unlike Hard To Pin Down), but I don't think it should get this special treatment.

Well, it still deals damage - so I think it's right to actually activate based on that ability. It's possible that it shouldn't get triggered by the lesser version (can't recall the name of the bat), as damage isn't part of that cards initial cast rather than as part of the attachment.

Wait, you're overlooking the big thing: this was an ally. As you know, the Unholy Frenzy and Unholy Wellspring you cast on your ally will not trigger Blocks.

Not to mention what I already said about Hard To Pin Down not triggering, so there's a disconnect that the player will not understand.

Well, tbh - reflexive teleports just says "an attack", doesn't specify ally or enemy (and all blocks are specified by triggering enemy attacks - as per the keyword hover). So the magic's in the wording. Could be a useful way to move an ally if you get lucky ;)

Would you look at that. Sneaky, sneaky.

And Dodge, a comparable card with no "Block" written on it anywhere, DOES specify "enemy Attack." It would appear that Reflexive Teleport is to blame for breaking the pattern.

Then again, it could be argued that it's not intentional - but I just love the game allowing for stuff like that one some cards (forced attacks on your own guys with martyr blessing et c), and hope it's designed that way.

I used it all the time with my firestorm team to get to vp round one without more than a single dwarf move.

Reflexive Teleport actually says "enemy Attack", yet it's still triggering from allied cards.

(Third battle of Riddle of the Gnome Lords, Trixy is a Gnome Inciter and Banjo is a Wild Gnome.)

Trixy sends Banjo into a frenzy!
    Reflexive Teleport failed!
    Banjo took 1 Unholy damage.

I think it probaby shouldn't trigger on ally attacks. @Jon?

I think it should. It is one of the neat things about it that makes it different from say Dodge. I've seen it used strategically before and it is really an edge case thing.

It used to say "when targeted by an attack" not "an enemy attack" ... not sure how it got changed?

I also prefer it to work the way it reads in the card and the way all the other similar cards do.

I'm going to assume it was changed in the most recent balance patch, as the wiki would suggest:

    http://wiki.cardhuntria.com/index.php?title=Cards/Reflexive_Teleport&diff=26029&oldid=15451

With regards to how it should work, according to its current wording, it shouldn't trigger off a teammates attack.

I prefer the way it works to the way it says it works. A bit more utility, but still only a 33% chance of success for a gold card.
