Just a small request, when they implemented universal harness stacking in balance testing they changed one of the Officer's Harnessto Leather Harness. This was a very minor unadvertised improvement but essentially kept the armor the same. However since harness stacking has been rolled back in testing Xander's Mail is still unchanged from the new version, but now categorically worse, with a junky leather harness that doesn't stack. Not sure which others, but I think they changed a few other armors as well, in anticipation of harness stacking but when they rolled back this change they left these new armor values the same, not really sure which ones but maybe consider taking a second look at some of these changes in light of the balance adjustment.
They didn't change it because of harness stacking. From balance changes blog post. There are a few items that are exact duplicates of existing items. We’ll correct these as follows: Captain Cedric’s Helm and Xander’s Mail: Xander’s Mail will get an Officer’s Harness to replace its existing Leather Harness.
That would be great ! Exactly what I was suggesting Guessing maybe a typo on this though.. Oh well sucks Xander's got the short end of the stick, but man leather harness is just terribad, now I know the feeling of someone who spent 2500 on a vibrant pain recently or something lol
Yeah, I shoulda spoke up when I noticed that change. I don't think it matters if equipment for different slots happens to have the same set of cards. They're different slots, and one slot shouldn't be arbitrarily handicapped.
Yeah, I have forgotten about this too, but I'm pretty pissed off about it. I have 2 Xander's Mail and no Captain Cedric's Helm. What did they base on to change one item and not the other? They completely screwed Xander's Mail. With the armor stacking thing it wasn't bad, but now they really should think about change it into unless something decent. It's a legendary after all.
Since my build no longer uses my Xander's this change went unnoticed. However I will say that I'm not pleased about this, and definitely feel it should be reverted for reasons already listed.
Hear, hear! I asked Xander for comment and he was outraged: "Are they implying I've been busted to private from my officer's commission? This is outright slander!"
Well since everyone's doing it... I'll throw another vote on the board - but I will admit that it has nothing to do with any level of thought I've had about the game as a whole, it's purely personal desire because I forgot about this proposed change to Xander's and renewed my membership just a few days ago to grab my first copy of the mail and probably would have passed had I remembered the change was coming. So all in all I'm happy to let other's decide the fate of Xander's armory.
Yep that pretty much sums up my feeling regarding this. I'm in the same boat you are, have xander's but no helm :/ How in the world does it make more sense for a helm to be strictly better than heavy armor for the purposes of armor, given they are equivalent in both token cost and rarity.
I'd prefer it if Leather Harness stacked. That would be nice, seeing as there aren't many Leather Harness items, and they're not really playable ATM.
