Hi everyone! This is a first-come, first-serve opportunity. CT5 and I are sitting on the test server, and we're itching to play Quick Draw against another 2-man team. The first two players who hop on the test server to join us will be our opponents. We will play a best-of-three Quick Draw match—whichever team wins 2 of the bouts wins the match. To make it fun I'm putting 50 of my own live server pizza on the line. If you beat us, each half of your team will receive 25 pizza. We wanted to stream this, but we're having technical difficulties, so let's just play anyway.
Sorry @Fifjunior7, everyone else kinda drowned you out (and you went to play a match with @Stexe). That said, thanks to @Kalin, @Jacques, @neoncat, @Farbs, @Jade303, and @Flaxative for some awesome and fun matches! I've got each match recorded, and I'll post the vids here as I upload them. We started off with some 2v2s, then ended in a rather amusing 3v3! Good times.
It was kind of hectic because our original opponents left one by one over the course of the three games and other people subbed in. In the future hopefully we'll get an hour or so with an unchanging team so that the whole best-of-3 thing actually functions
Are you going to post the 2 vs 2 one where I got stuck? That was hilarious lol. And useful for BM too I guess. I wonder if someone knows exactly what was the problem there. But asides that, Quick Draw is really great and coop quick draw is tons of fun, looking forward to make it official as a league (or more than one). The only thing I could criticise is that the time limit doesn't allow to plan too much each turn, specially when there are 3 voices per team. But I completely understand that you can't give much more, because matches would be endless.
Yeah, that was a problem last night, and may be a general problem for co-op in the future. Next time, how about just giving 10 pizza to each team member when they win, then you look for someone else to fight. Did Flax add a time limit in the later games? I'm pretty sure the two I played didn't have one. When the videos get posted I'm going to see if I'm remembering correctly that the order players took turns changed during the game. Also check things like how priority and traits work. What happens if a team member has to leave in the middle of a game? If they resign, does their team lose? What about inactive timeouts?
The first 3 games were on a custom 2v2 qd coop scenario I made that didn't have time limits. The last game (3v3) was on normal Streams of Blood QD, and had a 20 min timer >_> The way it currently works: • Team members play left to right • If a team member plays a card, the member to that player's right gets priority when their team gets priority • Traits interrupt this, and are played left to right • Once all traits have been played, the player who is supposed to have priority regains it (even if they weren't the last player to play a trait) Currently, if one member resigns, all members lose. Also, Snoozi doesn't work in coop currently. Both of these things are being worked on.
Game 1: (thanks to @DarialStorm for playing, sorry I forgot you in my post above!) Game 2: Game 3: 3v3 is being uploaded currently. I'll provide the link once it's done.
Wow, turn order is weirder than I thought. Spoiler: first game This is the first game. Players: 1.1 Kalin 1.2 DarialStorm 2.1 Flaxative 2.2 CT5 Drafting order was 1.1, 2.1, 1.2, and 2.2. Turns taken: 1.2 trait 1.1 2.1 trait 2.1 trait 2.2 trait 2.1 1.2 2.2 pass 2.1 1.1 pass 1.2 cantrip 1.2 2.2 1.1 2.1 pass 2.2 1.2 pass 1.1 pass 2.1 pass 2.2 1.2 pass 1.1 2.1 pass 2.2 pass 1.2 pass 1.1 pass End of round 1 2.1 1.1 2.2 pass 2.1 1.2 2.2 cantrip 2.2 1.1 pass 1.2 2.1 1.1 pass 1.2 2.2 1.1 pass 1.2 pass 2.1 pass 2.2 pass End of round 2 1.1 2.1 trait 2.2 1.2 2.1 1.1 pass 1.2 cantrip 1.2 pass 1.1 2.2 pass 2.1 1.2 pass 1.1 pass 2.2 2.1 1.2 pass 1.1 pass 2.2 pass 2.1 1.2 pass 1.1 pass 2.1 pass 2.2 pass End of round 3 1.2 trait End of game Okay... the rules seem to be: If you play your last trait or pass, your teammate goes next (unless they just passed). If you play a normal card, an opponent goes next (unless they both just passed). (Note the cantrip-pass in round three breaks the rules, as usual.)
I'm working on some of the bugs unearthed by this now - thanks everyone for playing. I've (hopefully) fixed the stuck passing bug, and co-op quick-draw characters now get named after their players. These changes and more should get rolled out with the next build, which I'd guess will hit next week.
