I think everybody got the chance to state their own opinion. Let's move on? Randimar resets in one hour only (which reminds me, I have a couple epics to pic before that happens!)

EDIT: and then the rest happened. 4 Legendaries this week

    Garalem's Boots
    Holy Hellyn's Breastplate
    Sahagun's Sword
    Smoag's Bucket Of Pitch

I guess I'll get the bucket and leave the rest. My finances are not going well enough for me to waste gold on meh-items just for the sake of helping with my collection.

Wow! For the first time ever, Randimar's has actually given me enough of interest to warrant posting here. I wish I was exaggerating.

The Hackmaster - I already have a strongarm, but I think I'm going to get this anyway just for the almighty hack.
Dangerous Club - Already have one, but... Does anyone ever find use for this?
Captain Cedric's Boots - Usually I just use Sliding Boots, but this could be useful as a blue token alternative.
Snitrick's Shield - Tempted by it because it's tokenless, but... aota's Twisting Shield seems to invalidate almost every tokenless shield now...

I could also grab a third Firehide Robes for low-level farming perhaps? I only have two double firestorm arcane items though, so I'm not sure if it's worth picking up now...

I bought a 3rd one and don't use it since I now run a double wizard & priest FS team.

I have one Legendary this week: Focused Crushing. It's tempting, but I don't know if it's worth it.

Guys, I'm always waiting the Randimar's refreshing every week, but this time it's something unbelievable. No legendaries and only FOUR epics!!! WTF? Why somebody gets 3-4 legendaries, and I've seen nothing but Porior's Nimble Mace for the three weeks? Why the difference in epics/legendaries is so large? I guess it's even possible to get no epics/legendaries at all. I'm so depressed that I cannot even comment other's luck.

There's even a 0.00019% chance that you have 0 legendaries and 0 epics there on one given week :p

  6. You can join me for a drink, sir (I'm pouring Scotch). Randimar has yet again let me down with not a single legendary to throw my money away on. It just happens, and sometimes it can happen for several consecutive weeks...just getting 1 or 2 junk legendaries or none at all. I find the trick to dealing with this is to never get my hopes up too high (okay, I am not good at this - every week I hope for a Vibrant Pain), and to blow about 1000gp on brown chests in a mad search for consolation. I managed to get a Legendary that way today, albeit not a very good one. Cheers, and let's hope we find ourselves in a week's time with nothing to ask our comrades here, only that this time it's because the legendaries are so good that we need no help!

I have it and I tried it on a warrior equipped with Vibrant Pain, Infused Greatclub, and Bludgeonator. The two heavy-hitting weapons with weaker cards on the right side became much nicer. 4 damage becoming 6 and 8's turning into 10's is a big difference (not to mention all those Obliterating Bludgeons becoming 19's!). I ended up changing things around to get more mobility with a Bejewelled Shortsword and I didn't have the token to spare anymore or the inclination to spend it to buff 6 cards instead of 12. Still, it allowed for some serious beats when I had it rigged up thusly.

    A couple of things...

First, Saragun's Sword is not a *great* weapon to buy, seeing as if you want it for the Cleansing Ray there is Nanahut's Morningstar and Bahoxl's Maul. If you want Shredding/Sundering Strike there is Ripping Mace. Anywho..

Garalem's Boots are actually pretty handy, those Wild Run on certain maps make them very useful. Probably not worth buying if you already have 3 tokenless Flanking Move boots besides Red Jon's. Although I normally prefer Mouse Boots, I have gotten more use out of Garalem's boots than I thought I would!

I would pass on The Hackmaster if you have The Strongarm! Consider that for the cost of upgrading one card, that only does damage, you could upgrade two other slots to gold and blue. If you can justify needing that one 20-damage attack for rare circumstances (like OHK an Ogre Bruiser) than sure, go for it. I got both in the last couple of days, and that's just my two cents.
Dangerous Club is a good weapon for SP but I hardly use it. Even before I had good tokenless stuff!

Captain Cedric's Boots are amazing. I would buy 3 if I could! Hands-down, these are better than all of the other minor Team Run boots. Unless you know you are facing encumber (grab Rhood's Boots?) they are just simply amazing.

I will say this- I like Snitrick's Shield and Eeygonic's Shield more than Twisting Shield on some occasions. It's nice and convenient to grab these guys and have those two Wounded Block for Block Any rather than two Pushback Parry. So many things are melee-oriented that Twisting Shield is great - but sometimes it's great to grab a tokenless shield that will block anything.

Last, I own not a single legendary Firestorm item, but ever since I switched from 2 to 3 wizards for low-level farming, my farming speed has increased at least 20%. It's super easy to just keep clicking the win button (AKA firestorm) than it is to mess around with a priest healing and drawing cards. Having 3 Firehide Robes is a fantastic bump to farming, especially if you have 3 Staff Of The Inferno.
Focused Crushing would be neat for someone wanting to do more in Aristocat; but here is my opinion on Crusher: It's costly, and it doesn't boost any step attacks besides Lunging Bash. It's really only good for a warrior who doesn't rely on step attacks to land hits; otherwise there are better and cheaper skills.
At the end of the day it's just a small (but cool) damage boost.

This week I've got Axander's Robes (Junk) and Barnum's Burning Bauble. I'm definitely tempted to buy the latter. Although in hindsight, I would have quite the robe collection by now if I had been buying them each week. XP

Thanks, but I never drink Scotch (or vodka, which is more popular here, or even beer). As for the hopes, I am never playing lotteries (and buying the brown chests is obviously a lottery), so what else to hope besides Randimar's? I will just play the other games, which always provide me a way to spend my money, if BM doesn't need it :)

  9. Krodis

    Krodis Mushroom Warrior

Hmm, i dont understand it. I have been playing this game for a while, pretty much right after they closed beta and i have still never gotten a single Firehide Robes. Even one would make my FS farming so much more efficient. Anyways, thats luck i guess. Certainly gone my way with other items. Anyways, on to legendary decisions.

Rolf's Reliable Platemail Anyone who has this use it a great deal? I'll buy it for sure as its lvl 18 legendary but i just wanted feedback from people that use it. I usually tie my yellow tokens up with weapons for my warrior so i wanted to hear the voice of experience.

Overheated Staff Havent made a fire wizard but this seems like it would be good for that build. How does this stack up?

Larkin's Orb lvl 18 legendary aside, a yellow token seems steep for this. Or am i just being cheap in not wanting to blow all my cash?

Evasion Doesnt seem worth the money

    Notable epics

Oxha's Sparkspreader Seems like it could be fun for some SP maps

    As always, thanks for input!

Overheated Staff can be a clear power-upgrade when you fully commit to a firemage that hands out long burning fire left and right. Its token-efficient for what it does.

However, here are a few of randies offers that make me ponder... 12 epics and...
Sadly only one legendary, Zoltan's Helm - I wont pass on a legendary helmet, and this helmet somewhat fits a theme i am experimenting with.

    a few noteworthy epics...
Armor Of Negation - I got 3 devine armors with double arrogant, this one pales im comparison. I am fond of cleansing ray but i feel that terrain counter isnt really that big atm. [bullet-in edit: just got it from a mag chest, curious thing]
Unholy Cudgel - This one is interesting for the double Unholy Energy, but comes kind of expensive tokenwise. But i actually have use for unholy energy and might pick it up.
Bahoxl's Maul - Way to pricy, tokenwise. A tokenless rare like Sacrifical Axe seems like the better choice for pressing bash, no matter what.
Sturdy Armor has 2x Reliable Mail. So do Sturdy Mail, True Mail or Clovidian's Mail, so no argument of buying for me there.

  11. Bandreus

    Bandreus Thaumaturge

I honestly think it's a decent weapon. My elf warrior is currently equipped with a Ztoli Branch, but I've been pondering swapping it for a Dangerous Club for the longest time.

Keep in mind, the only other 1-minor-token-weapon coming with Unnerving Strike would be the Maquah Of Ancient Blood, but it only has two of those (and a not so nice Ouch! too).

If you have one already, I'd skip buying a second one. Unless you really need a spare for some very focused build or something.

Buy it without any hesitation. When it comes to SP FS-farming, every additional FS counts. The robes will easily repay for themselves in the form of more gold/hour. And say "hi" to the Kobolds for me too! :)

I have both Focused Crushing and Advanced Crushing, but never actually used either. That's mainly because I'm not really into crushing attacks for my warrior builds atm. As the others pointed out, Crusher can really be valuable (or not) depending on your weapons choice, so yeah, really depends on what you want to do.

Still, if you can spare the gold, I would still buy it. Chances are you won't see it at Randi's for a real long time, and it being a lvl 18 legendary only makes your chances of dropping one really slim.

Man, I've been hunting for Arcane Shell robes for the longest time. Seeing you pass on these is a pain, although I do agree this is probably the most worthless of the lot. Although I need to say, Scuttle and Force Cone are actually decent self-defense cards: think about all the times an enemy warrior got your wiz with his back at the wall. That free move or pushback could easily save his life in such an instance. Still, not the best Arcane Shell item out there.

As for Barnum's Burning Bauble, it looks like a decent item, although I'm not sure it's worth the 2.5K and the major token? I mean, if you want to go FS, you might prefer one of the double FS items. Maybe it would be more worth it for a non-FS-centric fire wiz.

Reliable Mail is a pretty good armor. A warrior with one of those on himself will laugh at fire wizards (until they remove it via acid or other spells), and the damage absorption will make your big guy last longer against anything but penetrating attacks. Still, I would call that a niche armor, given how Reliable Mail is available on all sorts of items. Not sure about this one, I guess buying it will only depend on you seeing a good use in your builds or not.

As pointed out by @Robauke, the Overheated Staff can be very valuable for a wiz fully committed to burning attacks. You get 4 Instant Burns for 1 minor token only, which is extremely nice.

As for Larkin's Orb, let's put it this way: there are only 4 double-SPR items in the game, each one with it's own flavor depending on the extra-card coming along those. If you want the 2 SPRs, but also want the extra Cone Of Cold w/o moving any other arcane item around, then Larkin's is your only option. That's a very niche item, if you only care about the SPRs, Axander's Twisted Circlet or Farzil's Perplexing Horn would probably be better (and cheaper) options.

Evasion isn't worth the money in my opinion either. I mean, Flanking Move truly is a great card, but keep in mind you would be essentially giving up on all other amazing Elf cards out there. Only for those who really want to go extreme with Flanking Move I guess.

Couple Oxha's Sparkspreader with Focused Electromancy and enjoy almost double the frying power. I think this might even be viable in MP.

  12. Ector

    Ector Hydra

I have two of these and use them actively. They are worth 2500 gold since I strongly believe that the best fire wizard in MP is the mixed FS/burn wizard, not the dedicated FS wizard. Pure Firestorm isn't very stable, as you may always encounter better healing than yours or better armor than yours, but if you combine it with armor-melting and direct fire, you will get the real power. This isn't the best possible item, but it's good enough. Note that Flame Jet is a very rare card.

I'd buy it since it has its uses. One day you may want to build an armored elf, and when you have 5+ Reliable Mails in your deck (two more can be found on the boots), then you have pretty good chances of collecting two of them.

Holy crap, I am very surprised to see somebody thinking about this. Man, I have no decent Instant Burning staves, and I'd pay even two blue tokens for this :) The only problem here is Combustible which interferes with Firestorms.

Larkin's Orb is better than these since you need Cone of Cold more than Perplexing Ray (which trades one your card for one theirs) or Big Zap. I am using it all the way, and it's the first SPR item I usually equip.

I tried playing Oxha's Sparkspreader in MP and it cant hold a candle to the single target sparks. You are lucky if you get 2 or more targets, you are lucky if you happen to get the trait going, you are lucky if there is no armor in play. And these attacks arent guaranteed hits either with hard to block 1. Range 8 is nice, and when there is a good time to play this then its now, as long as the relatively open celestial maps are still around.

    Ok, another week of radimar...

    Let's see:

    Legendarys:
Divine Item: Oquith's Foul Incense 2 Cause Fumble and 1 Twin Heals kidding me?

    Epics:
Staff: Staff Of Glowing Coals 1 Volcano / Firestorm / Ember Burst and 3 bad cards seem to be too weak for 2 blue tokens

Divine Weapon: Now we are getting somewhere: Divine weapon: Whiteglow Flail: Very interesting item, at the cost of two gold token. Any experience with that?

Boots: Wlakwa's Boots : Hmm Team Run and Violent Spin, but Shuffle. For golden. Unsure. Thoughts?

Dwarfe Skill: Trained Toughtness: Dunno, Solid Rock seems better

    Rare: Divine Item: Corpselight Charm

    Shield: Hexagon Shield

    Thanks for replies :)

Whiteglow Fail got everything to be considered a must buy.
Oquith's Foul Incense, not essence, i would like it to replace Crespin's Shroud on my cantrip healer, since hes optimized to heal and block for others without line of sight to his comrades. Twin Heals has the potential to become a minor team heal when talented healer trait is running. If nothing, twin heals always makes a nice fishing tool for blocks, even better in cantrip mode. Just cast it on those pesky Slippery Shield warriors from save distance.

Thanks for the spelling mistake ;)
Whiteglow Fumble: have u used it? Might be good for sp, but for mp?
Incense: Cause Fumble: I used it rarely and didnt like it as its 5+. For Twin Heals: Imho you can fish blocks with a mage (I play with one) far better (firestorm, cone spells...). I would never buy it for 2500 gold. By happen,Crespins's Shroud is on the list at the epics as well, but although I like purge I wouldnt buy it for 500. Interesting to see how the preferences differ ;)

Oquith's Foul Essence - Yeah, only if you're very serious about Cause Fumble
Staff Of Glowing Coals - This one and Black Walnut Staff are actually legit options for FS-farming the campaign. Not as good as Wym's Lavastaff, ofc, but getting one of those is definitely harder.
Wlakwa's Boots - Those are designed for high mobility. It's the only pair of boots coming with both Team Run and Violent Spin which, depending on your liking and deck-building needs needs, might make these either "must buy" or "meh" to you. Although I think most people would prefer Sliding Boots. You can check Jade303's awesome guide to boots (keep in mind it doesn't cover AotA items though) and make yourself a better idea of what's available in this slot. In the same thread, @Ector rates Wlakwa's among the best top-tier options for a dwarf warrior.
Trained Toughness - Solid Rock might seem better, but it also costs more ( major vs minor token). When it comes to skills though, the available options are so varied it basically comes down to which one fits your build better.
Hexagon Shield - ignore this, the Twisting Shield is simply better, and it's also just an uncommon item (i.e. check the lvl 7 shop daily, it only costs 25g and it's one of the best shields in the game).

Here i am again in defense of a peculiar item and the labeling of cards as per se bad.
An item with a high variety of burning attachements becomes interesting in combination with Firestarter and Instant Burn, and Simple Bash adds to the defense of your mage enabling him to push away an attacker.
Or think of the combo with Volcano - You'll sometimes need to get your own allies off the lava once moves are exhausted, and doing 3 dmg to your own guy instead of 8 is an option when you see an opportunity to release volcano (which is a douchy card that only lurking cowards concentrate on)

Seen alone, something low dmg as burning fingers can literally heat up frozen allies by pushing off the encumbering traits.
