  1. Some web-comics are rather nice such as Girls of the Wild's (seen below). It is about a guy who gets accepted into a prestigious school on a full 3 year scholarship. The guy also works his ass off to raise his two younger siblings and his struggles to do so. It has action, drama, and comedy to boot.

  3. For Dragonball Kai, I wonder who they cast as Mr. Satan since his original voice actor committed suicide a few years back.

I might watch Mangaka-san to Assistant-san to since I like the manga. Other than that there aren't any spring releases that I would watch without some kind of cause.

    Future releases:
Seems Kantai Collection got its own anime. I will be watching that.
I'll watch RAIL WARS! since I like a women in uniform.
Strike Witches is getting a 3rd season as well as OVAs, so I clear my viewing calender to watch them.
Nagato Yuki-chan no Shou****su since I liked the impossibly adorable alternate version Yuki from the Haruhi movie.
I anxiously await Dog Days season 3.

  4. If you like violent, morally ambiguous black humor you'll want to read Dorohedoro.

Haven't watched any anime in a while but here some of the ones I liked the most.

    Best anime ever: Fruits Basket
If you feel bad or have issues accepting yourself, watch this. The opening in itself is enough to ease my mind and give me peace. The anime has everything, only thing I ever bought in DVD in my entire life.

    Funny ones:
    Gintama
Jungle wa itsumo hare nochi Guu

    Serious:
    Lain

    Beautiful:
    Air

  6. The manga Gate - Jietai Kare no Chi nite, Kaku Tatakeri has me hooked. I cannot get enough of it. Why it has lingered in obscurity for so long is beyond me but I must preach its merits.

I curse my associate for introducing me to this series.

Well, spring wasn't too bad. Dorohedoro is good, I love the art, thanks to Loli. :) I'm also hooked on the Knights of Sidonia for all its sci-fi and art. So its that time of the year again. :p

Definitely going for Re: Hamatora, Tokyo Kushu, Ghost in the Shell: Arise - Border:3

    Undecided abou:
Persona 4, never chased the series.
Sword Art Online II, is it better than the first arc ?
    Zankyou no Terror

Curious about 'Psycho-Pass New Edit Version', Uchuu Kyoudai #0, Aldnoah.Zero

    Any recommendations ?

Did you catch Mushi-shi ? It's beautiful both in story and art. There is an older series if it floats your boat.

Yes, Mushi-shi is beautiful. Caught the anime but not the manga yet ... still trying to get used to its episodic nature.

Surprised to see no love for Steins;Gate in this topic :(

I'm (or was, haven't really watched any anime recently (ie. 2-3 years)) pretty big into Shaft's stuff, Sketch, Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei, Mariaholic

It's in my Manga to read list. Can anyone suggest any good manga series? I have the usual in my list, but maybe some good mecha ones

It's not mecha, but it's good: Honeymoon Salad.

Also, Molester Man and Onani Master Kurosawa.

I'm showing the Monster anime to my roommates right now and they're liking it.

We're also watching Revolutionary Girl Utena, which is amazing. It's been too long since I last revisited it, I love it so much.

  17. To be fair, shows that are equal to Monster are very rare.
    Mecha related:
-To be added at a later date.-

    Non mecha:
    20th Century Boys.
Gate - Jietai Kare no Chi nite, Kaku Tatakeri (Reader take caution, this is has lots of violence and some nudity).
    Mahou Senki Lyrical Nanoha Force.
    Maison Ikkoku.
Girl Friends (If you like GirlxGirl stories).
    City Hunter.

Done and dusted. Imo, this one isn't as good both in plot and art as the SAC series... And btw, Lupin vs conan is also out...enjoy ;)

Agreed. I've never watched the anime version tho, the manga is what caught me. I'd say the equivalent would be Berserk, Akira, Gits, Kenshin, Inuyasha, Hokuto, Ranma, Gintama, 20th century etc. Mainly because like Card Hunter, they stand alone in their genre at that time. Then a tier below are the FMA, Tri-gun, stein's gate, be-bop, ippo, kenichi, titans, tsubasa, initial D, toriko etc... My 2cts anyway...

  19. Some mecha anime:
Armored Trooper Votoms. This starts out slow but you get to know the main character, grow to like him, and want to know more about him. I'm still watching the show and have yet to reach the end.
The Big O. If you liked Batman: The Animated Series then you'll like this.
Macross/Robotech. Still holds up to this day in terms of story. You might want to fast forward through the singing that permeates the show.
Mobile Police Patlabor. Nothing really stands out about this title, but it can be an enjoyable view.
    Beast King GoLion
(What Voltron was edited from). More violent, less annoying voice cast, and free to watch on WEP's youtube channel.

    Other shows:
Genshiken. This show has an incredible sense of humor.
Crest of the Stars. Starts out incredibly slow, but it builds upon itself.
Golgo 13. M-16 porn. Plain and simple.
Dog Days. It has dog and cat eared people. Its adorable.
Carried by the Wind Tsukikage Ran. This one has female samurai who is on a never-ending quest for rice wine. Likable characters, some humor, good music, it will fill your time.
Agent Aika. If you ever wanted to play a drinking game where the goal was to get plastered 5 minutes in, then look up the term "Agent Aika Drinking Game" on google.
