Good points, Vacuity. It's not necessary to tie contributing to the hunt into posting here and I don't think it will be. Possibly just logging who's changing what and when is enough to eliminate interference. I imagine Flaxative has experience with such things and will hinder usage only by the absolute minimum needed.

Alright so ideally we need someone to run Garnet between 16:00 and 18:00 UTC (approximately between 2-4 hours from this post). Any volunteers?

I was just about to ask when I should check it again.;)

I should be able to test it between those times.

Yeah, I definitely am in agreement with Vacuity (hence not implementing any hindrance in the first 2 months).
I'll prob log IPs attached to reports, and then do something to wall off IPs that troll-report more than once.

There was a suggestion a page or three back that people should also record non-events here in the hope it might pin down the timing of the LF more closely, if someone had a non-find and then later the LF was found at that location. No one seems to have acted on this, so I'm just checking if this is not actually being done. I just finished Return to the Astral Shrine a few minutes before 1500hrs UMT and there was nothing. I'm about to do the Citrine Demon Portal. Of course, I don't want to spam the thread either, so just tell me politely if you want me to shut up.

Testing right now may not be wise, since it's probably still at Garnet and anything you test now can't be re-checked once it moves. I should be able to test Garnet in an hour.

If you're specifically wanting to help test for the LF it would probably be best to wait until Kalin (or someone else) can check Garnet in about an hour and see if the loot fairy has moved yet. If however, you're just looking to get some play in and want to help along the way, by all means go ahead. There's no reason that the LF should stop someone from playing when they want.

That said, just based on the shear volume that could accumulate with noting places its not, I would suggest either
    1. keeping a personal log of what adventures you completed when, and then if the LF ends up at one of those after you played it and it wasn't there, you can come here and post the time.
    2. or, post here with any adventure you play noting the time, but do it in a single post, using the "Edit" feature to update the post rather than adding a new post for each adventure.
Regardless, thanks for your interest in helping, many hands/mice/trackpads make light work!

I'll be in or near bed by the time you'll get to test Garnet, and probably won't be up again until sometime after the adventures reset, unfortunately. The times of the reset don't suit my schedule/time-zone at present, so playing regular adventures to advance through the SP campaign's not going to do me any harm. By the looks of things, the Citrine Demon Portal's going to take too long anyway, so I'll go to bed halfway through or so.

It seems I can't help much directly, which is a shame. Best of luck!

Well if it does turn out that the fairy is moving on a 25 hour clock, while it won't necessarily be at as convenient a time for me to hunt each day, the nice thing is that it will result in making it so all kinds of people can pitch in at different points throughout each month. Your time may be coming ;)!

So the last time we know of, the fairy moved before 17:02 UTC. It's simplest to assume it happens on the hour and still on the 24-hour schedule so if anyone is able to check Garnet Demon Portal after the next full hour (in 8 minutes) it would be great. If it's no longer there then we'd know that it moves between 16:40 and 17:0x and in a 24-hour cycle.

    Thanks for the heads up!

UPDATING THE TIMELINE, will edit as more comes in.
I've gone back and compiled as best I can. All times noted in GMT/UTC and on a 24 hour clock for clarity.

    1. On Friday 00:00 the new update came out with leagues (love them!) and the movement time for the loot fairy changed to 12:00 daily.
    2. Tuesday 12:00 LF moved to Secrets.
    3. Tuesday 14:30 server came back up after unscheduled maintenance.
    4. A new build was implemented on Wednesday at 00:00.
    5. Wednesday 06:55 LF still at Secrets. (multiple reports)
    6. Wednesday 14:40 LF marked at Secrets in tracker. (unconfirmed)
    7. Wednesday 15:05 LF reported having left Secrets. (1 report)
    8. Wednesday 15:30+ LF marked incorrectly on the tracker multiple times.
    9. Wednesday 19:55 LF found at Cockroaches (multiple reports)
    10. Thursday 15:50 LF still at Cockroaches. (multiple reports)
    11. Thursday 16:20 LF found at Frozen Earth (multiple reports)
    12. Friday 14:30 LF still at Frozen Earth (multiple reports)
    13. Friday 17:02 LF gone from Frozen Earth. (multiple reports)
    14. Friday 19:15 LF found at Garnet Demon Portal (multiple reports)
    15. Saturday 17:34 LF Still at Garnet
    16. Saturday 17:40 LF gone from Garnet
#6 - Identifies loot fairy was no longer moving at 12:00
#7 - At this point move time appeared to be 15:00 Wednesday.
#10 - Did not move again at 15:00 the next day.
#11 - Appeared to move Thursday at 16:00
#13 - If moving on the hour, could have moved at 15:00, 16:00 or 17:00 Friday.
#15 - LF is not moving daily at 16:00.
#16 - It now appears extremely likely that the LF is moving at 25 hour intervals with 15:00 Wed., 16:00 Thurs, 17:00 Fri. and 18:00 Saturday.

    Current Inferences
    A) The data shows that if the fairy is moving at the same time every day it's most likely at 16:00 with #7 inaccurate.
    B) If it is not moving at a consistent time, it could be every 25 hours <- This one has my current vote.
    C) It could be completely random though beginning to be unlikely due to the close movement grouping time over the last 3 days
    D) It could be some other possible algorithm.

    Theorized Possible Next Move:
16:00 Saturday (based on [A] above)
18:00 Saturday (based on (B) above) - This would virtually confirm a 25 hour movement cycle. [CONFIRMED]
    ??:?? (based on [C] or [D] above)

Thanks for everyone who keeps reporting, more data is ALWAYS helpful!

Definitely not on a 24 hour cycle (see timeline above).

What we actually need is someone to check Garnet after 18:00 (in just over an hour from this post). Any volunteers?

Not sure when the clock reset, but I cleared Riddle of the Gnome Lords, Secret of the Gnome Lords and Ruby Demon Portal since 5pm GMT with no fairy.

Fyra, we assume it's still there (Garnet Demon Portal) until the next full hour.
