So this mission... I break into this guys house, kill his guards, dogs, and servants..Corner him in his treasure room where he desperately piled furniture to block me out, so i climb over it and finally kill him and steal his stuff... This mission has no written story yet, so im REALLY hoping its not as bad as it seems, like, he was a bad guy right ? Like REALLY bad, or are we the bad guys? .__.
Rich old man with pile of treasure and guards. Obvious bad guy is obvious and you shouldnt feel bad about taking this things over his dead body. That was actually an easy fight for me.
I think it's safe to say he's a bad guy. Lord Bafford, the character from the Thief videogame series whom these (former-Thief-creating) devs are referencing, turned out to be a criminal as you "investigated" his house. In fact, he was part of an organized crime group that continued to appear later. Now, if the final Card Hunter descriptions include any play on the name "Ramirez," the connection to the fantasy mafia will be secured . . .
He hid in his room crying for help, he didnt even attack once, he just ran into a corner. If begging for mercy were a card, he'd of used that too !
The problem is, THIS is lord Stafford, not Bafford ! We've got the wrong man ! We've made a terrible TERRIBLE yet profitable mistake
And that's what's important I'm sure he was one of those 'tough' guys with guards, but once he was on his own he was coward without a courage to face his enemy! His slaughter should be a lesson for the rest!
I just noticed: look at the model art for Lord Stafford. Look at his back. There's a giant letter "B" on his cape. Ahem. Error, or working as intended?
Wait. I've finally advanced to see adventures up to level 14, and I now see "Lord Batford's Manor." As in this thing, which had been teasing us since 2011. When I saw Lord "Stafford," I thought they'd decided to move further away from the original name (a whopping two letters of difference, not just one). Same person, revised name. But no. There's Lord Stafford, then there's Lord Batford. Who's next? Lord Craftford (the Mechanist)? (Also a Thief joke.) Or am I thinking about it incorrectly: Lord Bafwade? Lord Bafshallowplaceinariverorstreamallowingonetocross?
