I don't use TK much, and prefer robes with Resistant Hide. Rockshard Robes tend to be my go-to tokenless if I'm not running a firestorm build. They're epic, so cheaper, but can still be a problem to find.

The only thing that lucks good to me is Bolg's Club Of Evasion. The club is a pretty amazing weapon in SP, from experience on the test server, and I am aware of how unique it is... still, should I spend all of my money on it?

  4. I love Dodge, which is basically a block card that has the keep keyword (but fails if you are encumbered). However, you can get it on helms, shields, elf skills, etc. The problem with devoting half a weapon to a great non-attack is that you will have more turns that you draw no attacks. Running fewer than 18 attacks as a warrior is not something you should do unless the substitutes are traits (and you'll still being drawing less attacks) or the remaining attacks are ridiculous. The only two weapons that I can think of that would be exceptions to my personal rule of not giving up attack slots are:

    Reaper's Scythe
    Blocking Mace

Save your money in case Randimar brings you the first one of those some day.

I actually HAVE a Reaper's Scythe. Bought that a few months ago, it's been pretty good to me although I might have been better off using a Bejewelled Shortsword.

Bolg's Club is really useful in SP, you can use it for practically the whole campaign. It's a unique item, there really isn't anything comparable/better out there... a similar item in that regard is Crazy Sal's Halberd, which .... I would buy!
I guess that's the point. If you miss out on something with 2X Firestorm or Cone Of Cold/Wall Of Stone/Path Of Knives/Short Perplexing Ray, there are other similar/better epic/legendary items out there. But with this there really is no comparison.

Aside, I would consider Lochaber Axe even though it has one non-attack, and personally I would lean towards Warrior's Mace more than Blocking Mace.
Still, there are times where I will use Rageblood Dagger over Lochaber Axe. Not too many, but both are good weapons regardless.

Aside, Robe Of Useful Things is probably one tokened robe worth having. I mean, it is full of useful things, granted it could be better, but it is certainly better than some legendary robes! Otherwise I would pick a robe with Officer's Harness (Hylithia's Robes ?) or Path of Knives as you have mentioned- the only other option out there is good ol' common, Arcane Aura. Still, Rockshard/Firehide Robes or common Robe of Lightness are quite competitive and tokenless to boot.

I won't list even all the epics this time, as people seem to dislike it. Not even the legendaries I am not going to buy :) Only the doubtful items.

Brightblood Glaive. Looks decent for my future Firestorm team. There are only two supporting cards, but they are awesome! All the rest cards are pretty decent. Why do I doubt? Because I have Healing Hand Mace already and cannot decide which is better :) Or maybe I should spend all my yellow tokens and run both?

This week is a "week of duplicate epics" for me. I have extra Rockshard Robes, Ulalia's Boots, Vira's Chain and Wex's Mail. So I need advices on whether to buy a second copy or not. Currently I plan to skip Wex's Mail (I have one + Xander's Mail and cannot imagine myself running three warriors). Rockshard Robes is cool, but it cannot replace Firehide Robes in Firestorm build, and I have only one alas. Ulalia's Boots is awesome for any mage, especially for Firestorm/Flash of Pain mage, but I fear my mages will have to run tokenless armored boots instead :( On the other hand, Flank Move+Short Perplexing Ray is a dream combo versus warriors. As for the Vira's Chain, I have no specific plans for it, but all cards are good, versatile and the item is well worth using in duplicates even on a same wizard IMHO. What do you think?

  7. Oops, I failed to notice you said SP. Sure, I could see how it might be extra good on 1HP quests, etc. I was only listing weapons that had more than one slot devoted to non-attacks. There are quite a few that have just one non-attack (like Blazing Shortsword). I don't think giving up one slot is as big a deal, but 3...

And I really do like Robe of Useful things. As far as I know it's the only robe with Short Perplexing Ray on it.

  8. Bravo, sir. I would probably get the Brightblood Glaive as it offers card draw along with healing (while sacrificing the beatdown that Healing Hand Mace can deal out) and I like to have options. Still, I don't know if I could say it is better. Caveat: I have a bunch of money stockpiled since Randimar hates me, so I would buy anything semi-decent right now. After 3 weeks in a row of lousy legendaries, this week he offered zero. Rockshard Robes are great for when you want to play one of the best armor cards in the game, but don't want to play Firestorm yourself. I play this item in one of my farm builds, as there are a bunch of dumb enemies that will shoot lightning or fire at a character sent forward with Resistant Hide. The rest of your team can move in once they waste all their attacks. Ulalia's Boots are great, but I think Arcane Aura is too easily knocked off. Lastly, Vira's Chain is something I would scoop up on speculation that it could be useful in a pacifist build, if ever such a thing could be made good. Short Perplexing Ray and Teleport Self are both great defensive cards, and even the Stone Spikes can be used to slow someone down. Arcane items are hard to get a set of because a Wizard has 4 slots. No other item type has as large of a theoretical maximum equipable set (12 on 3 wizards). Again, I have money to burn, so make your own decision based on what kind of dough you have.

Oh, and I just figured out you meant Wex's Mail. It's pretty nice, but Shimmering Aura is really only any good if you are in SP and dealing with enemies that use magic, or are running a warrior in a firestorm build and want to soak your own fire. Otherwise the magic-only armor is too often useless. Xander's Mail is way better.

Sorry sir, I shouldn't even ask about the Glaive. I've explored the items with Inspiring Presence and found out that the best Firestorm-supporting weapon is Godtouched Spear, as it has the Presence + two Team Heals. The attacks are mostly the dead cards in my build since I will try to hide and finish off the opponent with Firestorms. I will only need the attacks when the warriors will come for my wizards, which should be prevented by any means (Stone Walls, encumber effects, WWE, Winds of War). A priest + two wizards cannot hope to outperform a good warrior in close combat anyway. The Godtouched Spear offers weak attacks, but there are ranged and penetrating attacks, allowing to deal the last bits of damage. Plus, I could use Penetrating Lunge for movement.
I appreciate your opinion. Honestly, I would like to buy all items that could potentially be played somewhere :) Unfortunately, the theory votes against the Glaive.

Yes, the robe is really good, but I've got one copy already, and one Firehide Robes. I've never played three wizards yet, though it may be funny for some scenarios.

Not in my Firestorm build trying to hide behind the walls :) Really, wouldn't it be cool to add 2 damage to every Firestorm target?

Thank you sir! I've thought that way myself, but your input is precious. I don't have much time for the farming, but I love this game and have some money to spend :)

Every time you use Firestorm, you have a 50% chance of losing your own Arcane Aura. I wouldn't run it in FS.

Wow... I was really stupid, thank you! So I don't need the boots... only Vira's Chain is worth buying from the doubtful items. Plus Xylithia's Wand and Torching Staff that I have no doubts :)

  12. Preaching to the choir, but Vira's Chain is a great item. I used this when I ran 2 wizards and it allows you to free up boots for something other than Greenguard Boots very effectively.

You won't lose Arcane Aura if you draw it before Resistant Hide. XD
Also, Arcane Aura is a good way to farm if you don't have Firehide Robes yet.

Colossal Hammer or Infused Greatclub? I have 2 of the Greatclubs now, and the option to buy a second Hammer at Randimar's. Is it worth the 500 gold, or is the Greatclub likely to serve all of my MP needs? (Note this is for MP, not SP. Already got SP covered.)

Basically the question is: Do you like Barge? And spending an extra token for it?
Infused Greatclub is a pretty universal weapon, for what it does.

Any reason for a person to have more than one Mindsplinter Staff? Just noticed it in my Randimar's near Bolg's Club of Evasion.
I think it might be handy for SP.

  20. Nasrum's Moccasins are very good. Those Enchanted Harnesses can be great if you draw both. BUT...I have some really nice stuff like three General Jelom's Helms and a couple of Nasrum's Moccasins of my own, and I have found their performance to be nice, but not as good as items with Reliable Mail. I value Quellic's Boots very highly and Kerrick's Steel Boots are great, too. I believe Reliable Mail is just better because it's always successful and you don't have to play too many armor cards. The Enchanted Harness is really only good if you have a bunch of Officer's Harnesses in your deck as well and enough Enchanted Harnesses to make it likely that you will have a pair in hand. Sounds pretty janky, right? Bottom line, if you have money to burn (I am desperate to spend $ at Randimar's right now) get those Moccasins, but know that there are better boots.
