I use the Clogs all the time in a lot of builds, both SP and MP. I'm not crazy about arrogant armor for firestorm, I'd much rather have reliable mail. But it can be useful if you're facing a lot of ice, or playing a deck with all drawback traits.
I'm broke, so anything I buy is going to have to be farmed for. That said - thoughts on these -> Aranak's Chain Web - An intriguing piece, but at a legendary price tag I don't see it as a high enough priority to try to raise that kind of gold in a week. Farzil's Perplexing Horn - I'm probably wrong, but I personally see SPR as overvalued. That said, this still seems worth trying to raise the gold to pick up. Hawlic's Armor - Nice armor, but there's probably better out there for the token? St. Bethan's Charm - Hmmm, for a support priest in a vamp build? Wuuna's Vampiric Shroud - Must grab for vampire fun. Club Of Devastation - Every time I see this I want to pick it up, but have never pulled the trigger. Flametouched Spear - Have one, if I got a couple more I could blow through the Trogs with ease!
Skip it, there are better tokenless armors. SPR is almost overpowered. I've used it thousand times to kill enemy warriors hunting for my wizard. They play Nimble Strike and hit me - I play SPR and suddenly they realize that they are hunted now I wouldn't spend a token on this, especially for a warrior. They don't have free tokens. I'm currently using it. Very good item, nice in "two warriors + priest" or "all priest" builds. Well worth the token and 500g. This isn't good enough IMHO. I've skipped it thousand times I have loads of these, but never played them. Warriors should play combo-attacks (move+attack).
Best day at Randimar's I've ever had. Second copies of both Staff Of Blazing Sparks and Whiteglow Flail, along with my first ever Lochaber Axe! Going to pick up another Gauntlets Of The Giant and a fourth Vampire's Blade too just for fun. After dropping 1500 gold, what's another 200?
I think sprint team is worth one blue token by itself. And Flanking move is great on a wizard. Making this item good for a support wizard or priest. Seem to have picked up 3+ of these in my daily grind, so may not be worth spending the gold for it
Finally Randi has a Nifty Halberd in stock. If I get extra money this week, I may pick up a Raging Rock too.
Hmm. I've always thought that the goal of deckbuilding is increasing the number of good cards while decreasing the number of bad ones (or cycling bad traits). Taking two mediocre cards just to get one good? Sprint, Team is awesome card, but you rarely need to run 8 squares, usually at the beginning of the game or after Whirlwind Enemies. Also, it's usually a bad idea to split your team that far. Team Run is much more powerful and consistent, and you aren't forced to be human I am currently playing Perfect Command on my human priest, and it's much better to have two medium-range run cards than one long-ranged + extra move. Even for a yellow token. This fact, unfortunately, doesn't give any items to me I don't have Advanced Command yet. Anyway, thanks for your response! I've investigated a bit and discovered that there are no items with two Sprint, Team. I have two Major's Helmets and Command, which I consider better since there are more team-pushing cards. Guys, will anybody comment my Draining Dagger, Quigley's Cap or Raging Rock? I've also forgot to mention Apprentice Command, what do you think about it? Holy crap, Randimar brought *thirteen* epics to me this week! Thirteen! One VP would be much better
As always, it depends on your build. I think advance command is good for the 2 warrior + 1 wiz or priest build. That being said. I usually run Advanced Flexibility. For me all those items are take it or leave it. I wouldn't spend 500gp on an epic. The loot fairy seems fairy generous lately For example I use Raging Battler over Raging Rock. If I spent 500gp on Raging rock and Battler dropped I would be pissed. YMMV. Don't think there is a wrong way of doing things here.
I love running vamps, and I can tell you Draining Dagger did not impress me terribly. You have to get too close to put the mind worm on - when your that close you want it to be because you have a hand full of drain. If your debuffing them instead of topping off your HP or running away, your sacrificing tempo and something's probably gone wrong. That said, I play a very mobility-focused vampire, so your mileage may vary. Quigley's Cap doesn't impress me much. Chain Harness can be useful, but you usually want to hold on to something a little better, and it would be at it's best if held on to. If that sentence makes any sense. If you want to play Dorfs, Raging Rock is probably worth picking up. Way I see it, if you run two warriors, and a Raging Battler dropped tomorrow, you just slap it on the other dorf and problem solved. Now you have a great card AND an amazing card! Win/Win!
Raging Battler is legendary. I may play a year and have no Battlers. Imagine there are no Battlers in the game - would you play Raging Rock then? Well, that's one more reason to avoid buying it Can you please tell me which weapon is better for a vampire priest?
This is the wrong thread for this, especially since you love to discuss everything and spam this thread even more. But consider to combine a vampire blade with a lifesuck spear and if you like lengthy explanations about vampire builds please open up a seperate thread in the right section of the forum or look for one of the few vampire threads and go there. Thank you very much.
Believe me, I know whether the thread is right or wrong much better than you. I am a moderator at several forums My question was a part of Draining Dagger discussion since I didn't understand Inkfingers' response. Maybe the game has a weapon with 4-6 good vampiric cards, but I don't know that? I don't need a theory of vampire priest, just want to decide whether to buy the dagger or not. Sorry, but your examples don't make me to change my mind: I don't like damaging traits like Loner, and Lifesuck Spear has just two vampiric cards. Both weapons are well worth their token cost, though. I would thank you if you would avoid playing a moderator here. Honestly. As long as nobody is discussing cars or girls here, I guess the thread is pretty healthy.
I have to step in and say that he is kind of on point here. Ector, you are the only one who posts the entire inventory (only slight exaggeration) of your Randimar's and then after people don't evaluate the entirety of your exhaustive list, complain that people haven't done so. You are spamming this thread, and I don't want to dissuade you from posting at all (I doubt I could), but c'mon. This thread is for help making tough decisions at Randimar's, let's not let it get bogged down with minutiae. Just because you are a mod on some other forums doesn't mean you are infallible.
You aren't fair on me sir. I've never listed plain rares unless I was really doubt about them. This time I had 13 epics, and I've listed them since this thread is right for that, isn't it? And I didn't ask to comment my entire stack, just 3-4 items that I doubt. People are constantly posting here just for boasting, and that's OK. Discussing whether the item is good or bad, is it worth buying or not is also OK. I am writing too much? That's because I like to discuss such things. If you don't like discussions, you can avoid them, but please don't try to make me shut up - that isn't even poilte.
I think I was pretty fair, and I am not trying to make you shut up - I specifically said I wasn't trying to stop you from posting. You have your own opinions and I always respect them even if I disagree. I was just pointing out the fact that you post more items than others, which you can hardly refute. Sorry if you are offended. You can ignore it if you like, but let's drop it either way since this thread is really about discussing what good old Randimar is selling.
Ector, I was lucky enough to come into a Bynzer's Black Spear, which is an amazing legendary for vamp builds. Before that, I alternately ran Lifesuck Spear and St. Olf's Fiery Pike - though I gravitated towards the second, because I was playing a Mass Frenzy build, and the frenzies were amazing. If you're not looking for a hybrid vamp/frenzy build, the Lifesuck is probably better - there isn't a bad card on there, especially if you play elf vamp priest like I do and can occasionally combo Elvish Insight with the Devastating Blow for hilarity. Without access to ridiculous legendaries, you're probably looking at most of your decent drain coming from Divine Items and maybe your armor, if you're running Glowing Hide Armor instead of something token'd. So I wouldn't really bother with the dagger. As sad as it is, not everything can be drain, but if it can't it should at least be good. Don't over-focus on drain if it results in dead cards.
Inkfingers is right, and the Vampire's Blade is just better than the Draining Dagger, and supposedly only a rare (I have found it very hard to come by). Don't be afraid of Loner. Your vamp will hopefully be sucking those hit points right back up, and you get a good card in its place. Mind Worm is total garbage.
Thanks for your input guys! I've seen Vampire's Blade many times at Randimar's and considered it a crap. Looks like I was wrong - that's why I like to discuss such things here. With all respect, I don't think that Mind Worm is a crap, but this is surely not the place to discuss it. Thanks again!
And that's probably why other people were saying that the nitty gritty of some comparisons were best suited to other threads—vampire weapons have been discussed at length in the Vampire Priest thread as well as in a number of build-specific deckbuilding threads. Vampire's Blade is definitely the way to go. 2X, even, depending on your party composition. If you search the forums for the name of any given vampire weapon, you'll probably find some discussion about how it's inferior to Vampire's Blade
Any thoughts on Perrio's Kinetic Robes? For that matter, are there better/cheaper robes I should look out for? Apart from maybe Jolly Robes, no robes have ever really stood out to me, and I usually just go with Imp-proof Robes to save on the token. EDIT: Jolly Robes is the holiday version of Bloodfoot Robes, just to be clear. I only mentioned Jolly Robes because it happens to be the one of the two that I actually own.
