Poll on upcoming Swiss tournament item restrictions.

Excuse me, but when did Stexe ever say he was going to design his tournament fully by committee? I thought he had the basics worked out his way and just asked people's opinions about a couple of fine points he wasn't decided on yet.

Isn't anyone willing to put in the work free to run whatever kind of tournament they want? If the players are not satisfied, someone can always just run a different kind of event.

Scared Little Girl, I do get your point of the poll being very limited, but I feel it's sufficient for its stated purpose. I understand the arguments for a wider range of options but I'm not at all sure they are needed in this particular poll as it was clearly meant to be very limited in scope. I'm sorry if it seems like I'm just piling on here, that wasn't my purpose.

 

? When did I say this was a democracy? When has any of the tournaments so far been a democracy? "Design by [full] committee" (democracy) just doesn't work in anything (I've tried it when I ran multiple contests for LoL and the results were ridiculously dumb).

I had a discussion previously where I compiled the ideas *I* felt were best. Since I'm running the tournament, I'm choosing the rules. Just like when you ran your tournament you chose the rules.

These polls and discussions are simply to get some feedback and thoughts generated. I'm unsure on some specifics of the tournament and thought I'd leave it to others to pick between the options I'm tossing around. I'm fine with either of these two choices, that's why I'm leaving it up to others. Including every option people have suggested would include options I'm not fine with running in this tournament.

 

Some people on this forum like to debate endlessly. Just pick a date and start your tournament, Stexe. Then we can move on and run more tournaments.

 

I have a date in mind, but I'm trying to work out a few details before then. It will most likely be in two weeks (22 Feb).

 

Sorry for the delay, been busy getting some stuff together for the upcoming snow storm and I wanted to get a few more votes in on the poll before deciding.

Okay, so the winner is: "Epic (or lower) rarity on all items. Only one of each specific item in an entire party."

I'm going to set the date of the tournament to the 22nd of February. As long as we can get a minimum of like 12 sign ups I'll be happy. Still working on determining the map situation, but I'll have that up probably tonight or tomorrow followed by Challonge sign up for the tournament seeding.
