In Which Epic Items are You Fully Stocked?

Some smoke might be key in the slime battle. That'd prevent the damage from the Blob of Slime hits which is the main killer there. The 6 damage is no joke for level 4 dwarves with 15 HP. Smoke Bomb requires a blue token so the party level would need to rise, though. This would dilute the chances of drawing Resistant Hide but maybe it would work.

Adding a level 20 Dwarf Priest overloaded with Impenetrable Nimbus was a revelation. Now I win every time and usually within 3rounds.

Below is a quickly thrown-together farming team for battle 1 "Slimy Foyer" of the level 17 adventure Dungeon of the Swamp King. I'm sure there's plenty of room for improvement. On the other hand I'm lucky enough to have some very useful high-rarity equipment in there.

This is the first time I'm able to quickly farm a level 17 battle. Thanks for the idea, Veza! I'm sure others have figured out something similar ages ago but I don't remember anyone posting about it.

    The Salt Shaker:

    1 x Run
    1 x Squeamish

I haven't tried it at that level, but I've been using a priest with my firestorm wizards. After reading some of the posts I tried 3x level 4 wizards, then 2x level 4 and a higher level wizard. I've used a human priest to get the Leadership cycling, but she was often too squishy. I think a dwarf priest works best.

p.s. I tried wyverns L1 3 times using a higher level wizard with smoke & Black Walnut Staff. Got tpk'd all 3. The wyverns always had their armor, and my crew died before getting their hide. Smoke was slow too. Maybe I'll try again later with armor remover or a nimbus priest...

I've been churning L6 Woodhome and all I've gotten are repeats.
    4th Antioch's Figurine
    3rd Cudgel Of Healing Light
Quornic's Armor (I've been selling excess for a while)
    4th Trogsbane

Yesterday I found another Heavy Mace, so now they're "Fully Stocked" too.

    Better luck to you all!

Edit: p.p.s. I can't quite duplicate your cleric, but I'm (barely) getting through Swamp King 1&2 consistently. :)

I prefer dwarf parties, with one priest and two mages. The mages are pure firestorm and whatever lava I can get on them (depending on level). The priest runs heal, and as much inspiring presence as I can get on him (depending on level).

There are a couple of high level runs that work well enough for me.

I have one group that does; Goblins in the Woods, Descent to the Core, The Pools of Slime, and The Tomb of Tvericus. (I'd like to be able to add Temple of Scales or Tree Forts of the Goblin King into this as well but they're more difficult and time consuming for the builds)

I have a higher level team that does; Lord Batford's Manor, Citrine Demon Portal, Into the Black Forest, Temple of Terror, Attack of the War Monkeys, and Secret of the Gnome Lords. (Return to the Astral Shrine is a good add if you can, but I tend to need to repeat too many levels)

I haven't found a way to beat any of the level 17s "quickly". I can reliably beat all of them with controlish/firewall wizards and a priest, but it takes time.

Thanks for the tips, Oberon! Yesterday I beat level 17 Slimy Foyer several times by round 3 with my party above (the longest match was round 8, that was a lone outlier). Felt quick enough for me, lots better than earlier attempts with 1/1/1. The level 4 wizards are squishier but they draw Resistant Hide quickly. Until they do, the priest protects them with Nimbuses.

Still, I wonder how level 19 wizards would compare in speed. Maybe I could just quickly power through using three of them without needing to think about protection.

First Slimy Foyer run today: round 2. Ooh yeah, baby, give daddy some of that goood sugar! ... aand the score is... Peacock Boots, my first copy, a nice enough warm-up!

Second run: round 3. It's taking me longer to wait for the various screens to load than to ram through the battle.

Third run: the first turn of round 4. Is this build working or what :)?

The first ten runs of level 17 Slimy Foyer tonight finished on round 2, 3, early 4, 3, 3, early 4, 2, 1, 3, 6 (but there was only one slime alive since round 3 so it was still quick).

I'm ready to pronounce this build (hereafter christened The Salt Shaker) Da Bidness. Card Hunter seems to agree as in the ten runs it gave me four Rares and one Epic :D.

HOO-AH! Gratz on the haul! Is this with level 4 or high level wizbangs? I didn't make so many runs, but I got a (common) Smoke Robe and (uncommon) Greenguard Boots. I've been wanting both. I also got clobbered a couple of times, but my 17th level priest isn't as well equipped as your 20th. Fortunately I know how to fix that. :)

Am I right in assuming you're trying to come up with reliable farming build for a level 17 adventure?

Personally I have better luck with Black Oaken Hearts. With a priest/mage/mage build, maxing out what I mentioned above, I can reliably tear through the first 3 levels in about 10 minutes. I can post the build if you want.

Level 4, sorry about being unclear about it. I haven't even tried it with level 19 wizards. Funny, I also got Greenguard Boots when I first started testing the build.

Yes, but I'm not trying to complete an adventure, just endlessly replaying a first battle. My posts in this thread are geared to that.
Please do, more build ideas and information are always welcome!
