Is there a plan to give away keys for $? I would gladly pay for this game around 5$ without hesitation and I'd like to play it soo much.
No I'm quite sure this is for real. Last night BlueManchu decided that their official currency within the company should be electrum
It is, of course, already available. Up to you to find active auctions, though. Also to find the £29,500 (per piece).
I guess I better start up Dungeons of Dredmor again... http://www.dredmorwiki.com/wiki/Electrum_Ingot
I asked about this earlier and the reply was something like its not decided on but worth considering. Regardless it wouldn't be attractive until they ramped the invites a few times as the number of people willing to pay may be more then they expect causing server problems and entitled whining.
I would also be up for some sort of early buy in thing, would help the game and please fans. Im guessing they have a ways to go with the beta before they want that amount of people on the servers.
It could be some form of auction, whereby the X number of people willing to bid the highest get beta-access, with bid-amounts (but not names) showing as public information, so those with a lot of money to give to the devs know when to re-bid!
I perfer this, not that i dont want the developers to get paid but why exclude people who dont have or want to blow hundreds of dollars on a beta invite for a game. I think a 10-20 dollar pack that included a beta invite and some content when the game launches would be fine.
What happens if the next stage of the beta is for 50 people, but 250 people are willing to pay the fixed cost decided on?
There not going to even attempt to do a paid model until their confident with letting in thousands so it doesn't mater. Thats my guess anyways.
I'd be happy to give them this drawing of a spider, that I value at exactly the amount of money they would want for me to purchase the beta key.
Electrum is a rare and hardly used currency in dungeons and dragons. if you ever find the stuff then good luck getting rid of it as most minor and medium towns wont accept it. some DM's are lax on it, but if you have an old school DM then best of luck. Im pretty sure it was a joke
It seems they have decided now not to charge for beta keys, since I doubt they will ask for money from future beta testers,, but not from the ones that were already selected. That would be kind of unfair.
