There will most likely be some adventures that you have to pay for. I don't know for certain yet though.
About Thieves and team play ! Lot's of RPG game doesn't treat thieves to their good value. If in all good rpg game, you always need a team with a healer, a good warrior/barbarian, a wizard, thieves are generally there to have fun, but are never indispensable. "wow a fire trap, just cause me 25% of my Barbarian life points damage, my cleric will take care of it !!! Of one chest i can't open...sorry lad, we'll get the other..." In fact, a team without a thief will always do...but without a healer, a warrior, or a wizard, will always die ! Could you please think about some passive attribut depending on the level of the character (traps sighting, hidden passages, night vision, etc...) and put dozen of things that will allow the classic theives to found his mark in a team, more than backstabbing
I'm hoping for a move away from the strict "only x class can do y thing" model. Building a deck to me means that there's a bit more of 'multi-classing' for a better word, although as Sir Knight says in a different thread, what if you're waiting for the card you need to turn up in your hand? Magic got around this by having a bunch of 'search deck / library / graveyard' cards, but we don't know how big your deck / pool will be. Specialisation will help with that problem, if you build a deck of 'Rogue' cards, but will narrow your available actions somewhat. It's a tradeoff that each player will have to make, I think.
^^ agree...btw not having bloodsheds, real time playing, or master of the hill competitions power grinder will help to keep the place clean of Munchkins !!!
God damned, why do you have to be the most pro dev team ever!? How the hell is a humble programming student willing to work for free supposed to get a job with you now (well, I wouldn't call amazing work experience free)?
Skimming the forum, it seems like there's a lot of info that gets posted here before it goes on the blog or dev diaries. I love it! Many thanks to Blue Manchu for feeding our curiosity.
I have been watching this site since the original RPS interview. I love the art style and the cards previewed so far. Keep up the good work.
