Most Unorthodox Strategy

I want to revisit this again for a sec. Does Path o' Knives deal damage on a per square basis, or is it all one lump sum at the end of a move?
The reason I'm asking is because I'm currently sitting in a PoK + Dastardly Curse situation and I don't know if this means what I think it means.
Running around with PoK is a bit confusing sometimes, since while wearing reliable mail, a part of me would expect to just soak up that damage on a per-step basis, but I'm really reluctant to experiment with it when I'm "lucky" enough to get it stuck to me.

 

The latter. The damage occurs as one unit after the movement is complete.

 

The most unorthodox strategy of all time that I've actually seen someone use was loading up on Traveling Curse. They were all set up with reliable armors and had healing priests. It didn't work too well, but it was just a fun battle to watch. They had WoW and Telekinesis to keep people away from the Traveling Curses and his healer.
