I want to know the goblin boss' special attack...

Why did Karen skip over the special attack in Goblin's in the Woods? I found that to be pretty easy with the bridges, the first 3 fights were actually tougher, the Boss could've used a special attack.

It's just "story" bullrainbow. I use encumbrance just fine in the monkey missions and mervil *****ed her for ignoring that rule, for example. Or how it always force you to fight mervileous (sp?) three time despite mervil claiming each battles after the first need a roll of 1 to happen.

Didn't he have a charge that did 2 damage for each square traveled instead of 1?
I'd swear I've seen him use it occasionally just to walk around. Not that he ever hits me with it...
I don't know if that's particularly special, but it was the first time I'd seen an enemy do something weird like that.

This seems to include them all.

Bluk is the boss from Highway Robbery; Guztuk is the boss from Tree Forts. And the only thing interesting I'm seeing there is Unstoppable Chop.

Of course, Gary (and Karen and Melvin) are playing a game called Card Hunter which is very different than the game we're playing. Their game has twelve-sided and twenty-sided dice, saving throws that determine if your char permanently dies or not, and verbal descriptions of the areas you're fighting in (at least one pre-battle desc tells you the size of the room). Personally, I'm not a fan of nostalgia and would prefer having everything rewritten to reflect the game we're actually playing.

I enjoy the story! I would like even more, myself - but for those that don't enjoy it there could be a setting in the options to ignore it.

Frankly these goblins are pretty tough (for goblins). The tree fort level gives me a headache. Boss Gob doesn't need any more special attacks to tick me off.

    "And now!" :)

I like the nostalgia and story too... I just through the last fight was pretty easy.

I'm pretty sure the 'special attack' thing is just another case of Karen being 'nice' to the player by making the game easier. ie. The boss is meant to have a special attack, but she isn't going to use it because she wants to be nice. Another example is that on one of the other maps she says that a few of the enemy pieces just 'flew off the board'.

Karen is trying to make the game easy / relaxed for the players - in contrast to how Melvin thinks games should be run...

(The bottom line is that there is no special attack.)

So chapter one teaches Melvin not to be a rules lawyer, and chapter two is going to be teaching Karen not to be a care bear?
    Wouldn't that be a twist?
