This proposal aim to make players more easily define their characters and use their inventory slots more for utilities (or a second specialization).

Let's open up an another inventory slot, say, trinket, which determines the default action. Cards from this slot is randomly selected every turn, just like how the default moves currently are.
+ Any common/uncommon items that the character can normally equip can be placed in this slot (e.g. no elf skill or helmet for a human wizard).
+ Only common/uncommon, silver or worse cards on this item are considered. The game will reject the items if there're no cards that satisfy.
+ "Default deck" cards are drawn faced up even though they are drawn randomly.
+ Cards that require deck interaction like free cards (traits/handicaps), drawing cards like Parry or shuffling cards like Traveling Curse always use the regular deck, even if it come from the "default deck" itself.

The trinket slot is customizable starting from level 10, but is there from level 1 to go with the introductory theme of the SP. In SP, special monster cards (Only Bones, Amorphous Body, etc) might go into this deck.

For "good" cards do you mean Silver? There are some common items with very good Bronze cards. For example, Burning Bangle and Silver Healing Ring.

That's correct. "Silver" = "good". Thanks for pointing that out. There're indeed some troublesome common cards like Whirlwind Enemies (bronze, common and can be found on common items) in the current system that definitely wont play well with my proposal but I expect them to be balanced eventually.
