At the moment the only real way to farm for items is from the daily chests in multiplayer. Personally though I hate the multiplayer and would love some way of farming items in single player. I tried just queuing for multiplayer and resigning if I got a human opponent but that got old very quickly. Some ideas just off the top of my head: Fight the multiplayer AI (double or triple the number of wins required for each chest and remove the time limit) Daily challenges (beat a harder version of an existing level with a locked party) Survival (defeat wave after wave of enemies, the longer you last the better the loot)
You can sort of farm chest in SP if you never beat the last map of a module. I agree it isnt fun atm, but devs have limited resources. Give it some time, it will be a very long time (with farming) to acquire most items in the game.
Are you a witch? As soon as I read your reply I felt relaxed and all frustration at card hunter disappeared from my mind.
Full Campaign provides quit a lot of playing, even with timed reset. Just have to play different adventures, which gives few hours worth of grind. If that isn't enough you can always resort Progammer solution (which might be better in some cases) For added benefit, you can save several optimal builds, unlike in beta.
This is the strategy I used here: http://forums.cardhunter.com/threads/how-are-you-enjoying-card-hunter-today.1757/#post-20500 Collecting a lot of Treasure-heavy loot, and thus a lot of gold. Edit: And then here: http://forums.cardhunter.com/threads/how-are-you-enjoying-card-hunter-today.1757/#post-28459 . . . I explain in detail how each of these early-single-player levels is good for looting.
Yep Sir Kinght lists a fantastic way to get money. In Beta using this method I got 2 of the bronze toupee's which was random luck but allowed to to get some nifty non token rares. Sadly all that was wiped away so now I'm chasing cash again.
Thanks for that. What exactly are the requirements to replay old levels? I know you have to be below a certain level but I'm not sure of the specifics.
Have you finished the campaign yet? The quests are challenges. Not daily, but there are a lot of them and some of them are pretty tough so they'll take quite a while to complete. I like the idea of two or three player co-op as an alternative to the PvP multiplayer that we have now. I'm not too fond of PvP, but I do enjoy some co-op. I'd like them both to count towards the same goal though - my fear is that they could implement co-op but have a separate reward chain, so I'd still have to do my daily PvP match as I'm doing now.
Lets be honest having a random adventure be adventure of the day and give a guaranteed rare wouldn't really break any banks. That said obviously the devs are busy but it could be a nice thing for the future to give pve only people a sense of direction.
The game will tell you. Click on an old adventure with whatever party active that you want. Now look at the short list of your party in the top right: notice it tells you the level you will become. You are automatically de-leveled to 2 levels above the adventure's level. Then you must change your decks appropriately. Notice one thing in my guide, though: I mentioned when you can start using power tokens. One at level 5 adventures (because YOUR CHARACTERS get to be level 7), two at 6, three at 7. That's all you need for your planning. I personally "save an 'Ommlet' build, and maybe a 'level 6 and 7 build,'" as noted.
Thanks, that makes things so much easier. I saw that the levels were greyed out and just assumed it meant that I wouldn't get any reward from them so I hired 3 new party members, guess that was a waste of money lol. Edit: Well after 2 or 3 days of replaying those first few levels I've found 4 Legendaries; Staff Of The Misanthrope Hawlic's Glowing Shirt Perilous Agility Xander's Mail And a couple more decent items Mageslayer Mail (My clerics only source of Shimmering Aura Off-balance Boots Runcible's Bracelet Shimmering Helm and Gouging Helm 2 x True Strike Spear (My new favourite zero token Divine Weapon) Shuddering Relic (My only source of Mass Frenzy)
OK, I just unlocked quests but it feels like they just give the same loot as completing the module normally.
I think quests are supposed to give higher rarity loot than campaign - or at least they used to? Anyone confirm? Think there used to be a guaranteed rare or something. Is this affected by the club?
It certainly used to be a guaranteed rare or better on completion of the quest, i.e. from the gold chest at the end. I haven't got that far in the campaign yet though so I cannot confirm whether or not this is still the case.
Quests guarantee a rare item. So you'll get two with the pizza club, beat about 20 of them so far. I ran numbers on this back in Beta, as I replay SP a lot to get items. Replaying a standard adventure on average earned me at least 1 rare or better item (that was with the extra items from the pizza club). So beating a quest is at least twice as good if you have the pizza club, an improvement though not a huge one.
I absolutely love that one. My day is made when I see it appear for the first time. (To people new to the game: "for the first time" refers to playing after the account resets we experienced during beta. And there won't be any more of those, so I'm waiting for the staff to appear now during the full version.)
