Hey guys- Love the game! Amazing work. Here are a few quick suggestions I have after a few days of playing -- sorry if these are already addressed or being addressed! 1) I'd like to be able to cancel a movement card after playing it and seeing where my character can really travel. The preview can be deceiving (due to encumbrance cards) and it's the only order that "locks you in" without being able to cancel. 2) I would like to be able to adjust my gear easier after I collect a chest and after reading the description of the upcoming battle. I know I can scroll down on the "table" and see my character sheet, but the usual gear choice UI is (for some reason) limited. 3) Finally, (and this is a tiny note) it would be nice if the attack types (piercing, slashing, crushing) conformed linguistically with their "martial skill" pairing (penetrating, chop, bash). I think it's a little unnecessarily confusing for new players. But again, it's been a joy to play. I love the Gary/Melvin/etc. story-over-a-story design! -Mb
On the third point, the damage types (piercing, slashing, crushing) are not what the martial skills refer to. 'penetrating' attacks are a a subset of piercing attacks which ignore armour; 'chop' attacks are a subset of slashing attacks which can target two enemies at once; and 'bash' attacks are a subset of crushing attacks which cause the enemy to slide backwards when hit. I agree that it can be a bit confusing - and I personally don't like that 'chop' and 'bash' attacks are not explicitly defined.
1) From the FAQ thread: 2) Technically being able to scroll down in the battle description page is a bug and that's also the reason why the gear page doesn't work that perfectly at that point. I think the devs said that originally you were able to switch your gear before the first fight normally but this was streamlined to make the game more straightforward. But I agree, it would be useful to be able to switch equipment after reading what the adventure actually involves.
1) I thought I'd highlight my suggestion from the FAQ thread, 'cause I think it's a good one: "If you mouse over a movement card for an encumbered character, the card is tinted red if you won't be able to move, or yellow if you're just slowed."
I'm way on board for this, but I'd go a step further and suggest that any card (not just movement) be marked depending on active attachments or other cards in hand: Examples: Wimpy attached: Each melee attack card would be marked yellow (or red if the card has an attack value of 1 -- I haven't seen any melee attacks this low but just as an example). Arcane Aura in hand: Each magic attack card would be marked green. Also, since card color is indicative of its function, tinting the whole card might be a bit confusing. An alternative might be a green '+', yellow '-', or red 'X' icon placed somewhere unobtrusive but obvious on the card.
