Racials?

Do we know if race affects any stats, or offer specific set perks, or maybe racial specific items/cards ? Or maybe some meta-game element based on race.

Also, in the near future when this game takes off as a top rated best seller, maybe we could see an expansion with some evil races, (orc, goblin, undead, drow etc) who kind of get their own tavern hub and do 'evil' person quests :p

There are racial skills as you can see in this blog post. You can put them into a race specific slot from your character and as you can see they add some cards to your deck. And i really would like the idea of more races. And i think as they want to add some new classes, they will also add some new races.

The fact that they mentioned an 'all dwarf' party because certain skills accommodate that makes it even better, being rewarded for focusing on one race instead of being punished for a lack of versatility :D dwarves for the win !

Do recall that the only "stats" are level and hit points, and those are basically just one stat since your level determines your hit points. Right now I can't seem to find discussion of race and hit points, but I thought there had been some. Over here you can see one thing we know for sure: race determines your default move card.

Also, when it comes to race-specific skills, we see here and here that these skills are themed. In both those pages, they say humans will tend to get card drawing and filtering skills.

Apologies for the double-posting, but I realized more answers are over here:

So a dwarven wizard would have the most HP of wizards, but since thats the only stat, hes not really losing anything besides some racials that may not suffer/benefit him, unless racial skills are SOMEWHAT aligned with a preferred class. Wonder if that will be a problem in the future, but i plan on doing a dwarven party anyways.

I find it curious that all three racial skills previewed in the skills blog include movement of some type. I'm not sure if that's a true pattern or a false lead, though also see Borgo discussed below.

I'd like to have a larger sample, but I'm too eager from the beta signup to stop myself from guessing:

We're on fairly solid ground with the two blogs Sir Knight cited saying that human skills tend toward card drawing and filtering. Obvious benefits for any class but might be most subtly useful for warriors, who with all that armor risk not drawing much of anything to do (see example).

There are two trait cards in this blog that seem to come from skills, one apparently elfish and the other dwarven. But Slippery is not part of the Trained Battledancing suite in the very next blog posted nine days later. Go figure. Trained Battledancing is the only elf skill I can remember being named to date, so I can make only the most tenuous generalization that elves may favor movement and possibly some positional attacks/boosts ("Cowardly Attack"). A quick analysis suggests that extra movement aids mages, who want to keep their distance and set up line of sight, but they might not like the position bonuses as well as classes that get closer in (and behind).

Looking at Borgo the Brave and applying some deductive reasoning, it looks like the "empty" Dwarf Skill consist of three Walk cards, while that Ale Level 4 (probably not the real name) gives Run and two cards I can't quite make out, Hard [Dodge? green defense with a movement range] and Rea[-ction? -ctive?? ?]. Combined with Shrug It Off, Dwarven Warcry, and Blind Rage seen on the other pages already linked, they suggest that dwarf skills could tend toward combat stamina and damage related cards. Good for any character who is under fire, perhaps not so much if the enemy isn't hitting you.
