Is there a possibility of guilds being in the game? So the guild members elo would contribute to the guilds elo and there will be a guild ladder. This would cause a stronger community between players. Also people would aspire to be as good as the top guilds. Your thoughts?
I don't expect to see guilds right away. This game has some pretty heavy single-player content, and as far as we know there wont be a 2v2 style multi-player experience right away either. I don't think many of us here have done much thinking about guilds in regards to this game because it doesn't seem to be a game that calls for them. I'm not saying they wouldn't be appreciated though, that sense of camaraderie is always something positive to gain from a multi-player online game. I am actually not sure where we stand in regards to a friends list even. I don't recall that ever coming up in discussion, but I imagine that is because it's an assumed feature. I can't imagine BM wouldn't implement a friends list, but I think that would sort of take the place of a guild.
For the record, I propose that anyone who gets invited as a tester should be in an honorary guild, The Beta Barbarians. (pending guild motto, "You make it, we break it.") I'm not heavily invested in ranked play so I haven't given a lot of thought to guild competition, though.
I don't know about this, guilds are supposed to make people play together but they almost always end up as a us vs them mentality. Which is worse then a i and them or we mentality especially in games like these that aren't heavily social to begin with.
If there are any guilds, i'm looking for an all dwarf one. Kill the humans kill the elves, play the game by ourselves !
I don't know why we would have guilds unless it was this game's version of a Friend System, but I love this post. The quotes are great.
