I never know what to name my characters, so I click the random button a few times until I see something I like. After the reset, the time came to name my new Elf Priest. "Dhongwiner" appeared. I simply had to use it.
Actually I like the random names generated by the game! well if that's the name my characters' parents gave them, who am I to say otherwise?
Right now my MP team is Boston Mangler (Human Warrior), Samuel L Awesome (Human Priest), and Backdoor Mudslide (Dwarf Warrior). I am thinking about going back to Stumpy Ironbottom for the dwarf.
For me, names are always the hardest part of character creation, so I often just borrow some from my favorite books. And post release I'm playing only women (mainly because I can), so my current chars are called: Jamethiel Priest's-Bane, Aliera e'Kieron, Lady Teldra, Digger, Kilava Onass, Cheerwell Maker, Cassandra Kresnov, Tattersail, and Mirabar. Later I'll probably spend some time with the random name generator to see if comes up with anything I like better.
Cheerwell Maker eh? A fan of the Apt series I see! Guessing you run a dwarf for a beetle? I like tricksy names myself, or fun names that still works as names. As my dwarf-raised-by-goblins I ran in the beta - Wotzit. Also, Beardface - bane of the beardless. Couldn't help myself with that wizard costume (figuring out which shouldn't be too hard). On the test server I ran with Humanitard, Elfhild, and Prof Dwarfatron - for some reason.
Yeah, I had a hard time thinking of cool female dwarfy chars; I also considered having Cheri Littlebottom as a wizard.
I have a human warrior called Carla Kronenberg, an elven mage called Allets Siotra and a human cleric called Corona Foster. There's a theme there, but maybe you'll only notice it if you're British or maybe just generally European.

I love my warrior "The Konami Code." All of my characters' names, as well as my screen name, come from characters I created in City of Heroes back in the day. I'm also leaning toward using names of pro wrestling moves...a team of "Cattle Mutilation," "Sliced Bread #2," and "Super Fisherman Buster" would be fun.
I made a party of three human warriors which had the same figure, and thus were red, blue and yellow. I thus called them Phage, Sheen and Zeal Now, the first party i had, i named my warrior, priest and wizard Neer/Farre/Gueneaveir Yuar respectivelly
I did not even know that you could rename your characters until I ran into someone in multiplayer who changed his character names to, well, poo. So I figured I had to be at least wittier than that and named my party after musical artists. My bulky dwarf warrior is Prince.
