Hi guys, I just received the White Star Diamond. Is this just normal treasure to sell, or is this a special item that I can use later on? If so, then what for can I use this item? Cheers!
But some people keep one of every treasure just to show off to others. And because the White Star is level 30, you'll never get another one (until they expand the campaign).
I like to place it on top of my hoard of treasures before taking a nap on said hoard. I plan on making Smaug envious.
If you sell something like this will it always be available for re-purchase from your store, or does the store's inventory change and wipe out the items that you have sold?
I'd like to take this occasion to say, again, that I think the White Star Diamond's rarity should be bumped up further. It wasn't always Rare: it used to be Epic, but then it was changed because a "guaranteed Epic" was messing with Club rewards. At the same time, the Hand Of Melvelous was dropped in rarity for the same reason. You'll notice that the Hand Of Melvelous is all the way back up at Legendary today, while the White Star Diamond still is worth the same as the freebie Amber Shards you get at the start of the game. I'd much rather that the "super duper named reward" for killing all those Kobolds be a real monetary windfall.
While I agree about is lack of glitz in status terms, it'd be a bit much giving every player a guaranteed 1 k gold.
That's more feasible. But still a bit much, considering I'm at lvl 8 and have gained around 70 gold (saving a lot of treasure et c).
There've been lots of conversations about gold and buying stuff. Some people have said they don't buy too many items directly (the implication is that they use chests, but I don't know). I've wondered how much people would spend, and observed that people literally will never pay the highest prices in the game because those prices will be lower by the time they can afford them. Giving the player "initial cash" is helpful to get people to use the gold system whatsoever. The Amber Shards from the start of the game have gone up in value, which is very helpful indeed. You can hire an entire second party! Awesome! By level 6, you actually understand the game a little. You might want to buy something. With 200 gold, you can afford "something," like a single solitary Rare item above your level. You might actually use the system.
