I just started today and I wanted to know the best way to start trying out the MP mode. I've been looking through the other topics and I've heard mention about Gary giving you a starter deck (?) and IK that I don't have good enough items to stand a chance without it yet. I was silly and made 2 parties in campaign, and they both are only ~LVL 4-6 with not much in rare items, so I don't think I can do much at this point without a starter deck. I also am wondering if anyone has advice on how to start off, or any tips/tricks. I would like to not be a noob any longer than I have to.
I suggest to keep playing the Campaign for now. After you finish a certain adventure, Gary will prompt you to visit Multiplayer. He'll also allow you to get an Adventurer's Starter Pack for free. This includes 3 characters (Dwarf Fighter, Elf Wizard, Human Priest) as well as a preset array of equipment. There are a few high level items in that set. Going into Multiplayer before Gary prompts you won't allow you to get a free Starter Pack. Don't worry about being under-leveled since all characters will be temporarily set to level 18. That makes the number of power tokens even across all the characters. It will be your equipment and strategies that matter.
IMHO, you cannot be competitive in MP until your SP characters are at least lvl 12 or more Reasons being. 1) You need to be lvl 12 to unlock the lvl 12 shop. 2) Items that are higher lvl than your highest SP character is a LOT more expensive For example if your character is lvl 10, a lvl 10 rare would cost 100g. a lvl 11 rare would cost 200g and a lvl 12+ rare would cost 300g
Imho, you definitely don't need to play the SP campaign before starting to play MP. I started yesterday, after playing only the first three scenarii (SP), then went directly to MP. System is offering you the starting MP team (ok they have NO cards, but it doesn't matter), I won my first 3 games, lost 1, then won 2 more, so I had 3 golden chests, and 3 or 4 regular one, wich allowed me to significantly upgrade my MP team. My guess is, until you find rich player buying a lot of pizzas and playing all day long, you won't have any difficulties to win MP games if you play decently, and rewards will boost your team very fast. Now, SP campaign seems to be interesting, so it's worth playing it, but it isn't a requirement for MP, not at all.
But it's much much easier with starter pack. Which you get free from SP. ofc not a problem if using pizza. And like Kogi said, shops work much better when SP party is higher level.
11 games now, 10 won, reached 1000 elo, and I still don't have progressed in the SP game I don't understand this shop thing, MP shop is selling lvl 1-16 items, and rarities are just the same. Could you explain me where is the advantage in term of shop proposals when completing the SP part before engaging in MP ?
As I said In Radimars . If the item lvl higher than your character lvl . That item then costs 3 times more. So that item that costs you 300gp. It will cost you 100gp if you were a higher level. Playing the SP also unlocks 2 more shops Goblin Bazzar and Kyburz Market, with many higher level common & uncommon items
Ok, sorry I was not paying enough attention :-( So basically, items are cheaper. Since I'm not buying any item, now I understand why I missed that. Thx Kogi
As you go higher, you will start to need some items from shops. Especially Goblin Bazzar. They sell some very useful items for very cheap, provided your level is right. You will also get 150 free pizza. You can use it to get more starters for items/characters. The human, dwarf and healer packs are all very decent. Combing them all (you will get the advanture pck free) will give you a very good starting base.
OK. I think I'm getting a good idea how to go about this, and once I have some decent items I think I will do well. With this though does it also mean that lower level treasures will give you more gold when you are lower level? I had a point where my characters were LVL5 and I just found some LVL 3 treasures, and though they looked like they would sell for a bit, they only sold for 2 gold each. Was a bunch of gems, and a large gem. This was what prompted me to start a second group to be able to make more gold, but I want to be sure one way or another on this. Either way though thank you all for helping me get a better idea on all of this
OK. It must have been common forms of treasures then. I'll try to pay better attention in the future. Thanks for all the tips I hope that my days of being a noob are going to be behind me soon.
