For some time now my rating stood at around 1100-1200, and there are days when a lot of times I come across opponents in a row with a rating of 1400-1500 who are very hard to beat, and it is impossible to make more than 2-3 chests per day. I suggest to make it possible to reset the rankings even for a small amount of pizza, or as example 500 in-game gold, so you can go all the way from the bottom to the top with all your experience and equipment. I think it will raise the interest to the game for many players find themselves in a similar situation.
I don't understand how allowing players to start at 0 will encourage them more. If you are worried about facing highly ranked opponents then you could artificially lower your rating, though I don't recommend it because you will make lower rated players feel the same way that you do now. This issue should be resolved once the player base is large enough.
The problem is that the more powerful people can do the same thing. So instead of sometimes matching against more powerful people you'll be fighting them all of the time because everyone is resetting their ranking to 0. Rank suddenly means nothing. No worries though, when there are more people playing (after the game goes live) you won't have such a problem being matched with higher ranked people.
