From Ben, slightly beyond the halfway point: "Gary is definitely a late 80's, 90's GM. He's not a 70's GM, where they were actually setting out to kill you." From Jon: "Ah ha! You put on the robe of Instant Death?! And now you die with no saving throw!" . . . In case you can't tell, I continue to be interested in this "relating to Gary" part of the game. I'd never really explored this sort of mechanic myself, and the mind boggles at what the practical content in the game would be. Edit: There, finally! "Quests" are ways to replay the same adventure with different constraints!
Right at 26:00, Ben talks about how the old school art was all black and white, and one of the big updates for CH was to add color to the drawings. Well, I never had any early tabletop sets, but I fell in love with Might and Magic. It was about the time I was finishing the fifth game in the series that I decided to take my colored pencils and fill in all the game manual drawings (except for M&M II, those were already greyscale shaded). So I was about 14 years ahead of Ben with the idea.
