This is something that could only come from the devs, but I think would be really interesting (in a weird way). Every now and then Jon will post something making reference to the frequency of card uses, average damage dealt etc, or just the 'data' when discussing balancing cards. I'd be really intrigued to see exactly what form this data takes.

There must be a huge glut of it all that makes it impossible to just sift through manually. So is it boring excel spreadsheets? Dull databases? Funky dashboards? I'm not asking you to give away all your secrets but it would be good to see how you deal with it all, what data you actually see, and how the hell you distill it down to something you make decisions with...

Jon runs a query in the database and then analyses it in a spreadsheet. Sexy, I know.

Part of me can't help but hope that the queries are along the lines of "How on earth do I balance this game?" and "Which card are they going to break next?", to which the database gets the spreadsheet to reply with riddles and cryptic answers.

Hmmm. The database as the Oracle of Delphi. I like it.

I think the questions would be more along the lines of, "how do I nerf Talented Healer without causing outrage in the forums?" Or maybe "how many sheep must I sacrifice to allay fears over Pay2Win?"

The answer is always, of course, "42". It's a very useful database.
