thought it was odd I didn't see anything about this yet. RPS says Card Hunter releases on September 12(congrats dev team) (source: http://www.rockpapershotgun.com/201...Feed:+RockPaperShotgun+(Rock,+Paper,+Shotgun) _ so I assume beta is going to wrap up in a couple weeks in preparation?
Oh good news. I assume that for the scale of this beta, there isn't going to be a huge downtime, just a switch to live server. So beta could ends a day or a few hours before for all I know.
Good spot! I doubt there'll be significantly more downtime than when a new build is deployed. I'm intrigued as to what will be in the Basic Edition box. All the treasure hunts + ...?
There's been some rumblings about release a while now, since the open beta started. That basic edition info sounds legit, considering there's been mentions of "a basic edition" in the dev twitter feed - we just didn't know what it was. If that's true - that's just, awesome! Even if I already spent 50 bucks worth of pizza, I always felt the game needed a SP price tag like that. Also, likely no massive downtime - I believe we're already running on live servers.
I think I heard mumblings of the first reset (although unspecified) from an outside source as well. So possibly, but I doubt the devs are too upset about it, if it's true and nailed down. We've known we're getting "big news soon", from a post I believe Megadestructo posted a few weeks ago.
http://www.cardhunter.com/2013/08/c...m_medium=rss&utm_campaign=card-hunter-release It was officially announced, just not on the forums.
There will be a little more downtime than a normal update. Most of the additional time is less about updating the game server itself (which, as you noted, is already running on the live hardware) and more about cleaning up lots of little references to "beta" all over the place - things like updating the new account emails and removing the beta key requirements from the account registration system. We're also scheduling the start of the maintenance earlier than we otherwise might to give ourselves plenty of time to make sure we get everything right before we turn it back on.
Will there be new stuff after the opening? Please, let there be new stuff. Please, please, please.... pweeze? Q.Q
Yeah, it's actually better value than actually having pizza from the beta atm - so yes, please. I'd be on that like salty caramel on ice cream.
Isn't it only better value assuming you want all the base characters tho? all adventures is 330 one month is 300 and 100 pizza thats 730 and 25$ of value at least if you got the 50$ pack is 900 pizza. They left out smithy the well armored from that pack so i am no longer interested. Also that sounds beyond delicious!
