I just reported someone for throwing matches (lots of them, losing repeatedly within one minute). What happens when someone is reported? How many reports does it take for corrective action to be taken? Sorry if this is explained somewhere; I just haven't seen it.
I suspect it was the same guy i reported tonight. I saw him actually play one match, but he was clearly gaming the system in some way. It was tough to report him because he was spending so little time in or out of matches. Someone said you could report from the results area of the lobby, but clicking on names there did nothing for me. If it's not possible, it should be, at least for people you actually played. Matches of less than 15 seconds should probably be auto-flagged as well.
After a number of reports, they'll get a warning. And if they keep getting reports, they'll be blocked from entering the MP ranked queue or chatting in the lobby or MP games that aren't theirs (they can still play and chat in casual MP games). We definitely need to make those names in the result list clickable just like in matches. I think when I reported him myself, I went into his next match to report him from there.
While I think corrective action is good in some cases, 'gaming the system' actions during a beta could very well be a part of testing. If the system can be abused, it's best to implement someone to disallow that.
The reporting system is also one of the things that needs to get tested during the beta. It doesn't hurt to report people when it's appropriate, even though it is beta. Obviously the sort of abuse of the system that we're seeing there is something we'll want to address.
Of course. Just saying that some 'abuses' are really testing. I resigned a bunch in a row to drop my ranking in order to test a few things myself. Rankings are sticky enough that it makes it pretty painful to do it.
I know of the player your talking about here, and I've also reported him for throwing a game. But I'm certain that I reported him from the main lobby rather than from inside a game. Was the lobby reporting functionality broken/removed by one of the more recent patches? In any case, I'd be interested to hear the player's explanation of why they are doing this, and analysis of whether it is actually helping to achieve their goals. I've got my own ideas about their motivations, and I'm sure others here do as well. But we can't know for sure unless we hear it "from the horse's mouth", as they say. I'm doubtful that their method would result in them more a higher reward/time ratio in terms of chests and items - so I'd like to hear them talk about whether or not they are getting are aiming for. Maybe they aren't doing it for the items, but rather just want the lower stress of having a lower rating - or maybe they're doing it just to hand out free chests to other players for whatever reason... Who knows? -- (A: the person we're talking about knows.)
There's a diffe If you're actually testing something, take the time to write something to that effect in the chat. "Testing something by resigning matches - enjoy the free win." And then give them a few seconds to actually read it. Don't just quit, or at least don't be annoyed if something happens due to all the reports you'll get.
I did that actually. Didn't mean anyone read it. Either way reporting someone doing this may also help highlight how much of a problem this is (or isn't).
It looks like it's still working. However, it can be hard to catch people moving through the lobby if there are a lot of people on and they're queue is moving smoothly enough that their rapidly joining new games.
