MP timer counts down during "upkeep?"

Just finished a MP match which seemed like it was bound to be determined based on time. (Both players had very little time remaining on counters, and were not close to winning, strangely.)

I noticed two infuriating (in the moment) things:
    • It seems impossible to pass your turn in fewer than three seconds (even if you have the mouse in the exact spot and click as soon as the button appears). Usually, this isn't a problem, but when you're trying to save the clock, it seems unfair
    • My hypothesis is that this is due to the animations used in switching turns. I also noticed that when both players passed, if you passed first (i.e., it will be your turn again next), your timer continues to count down while the game assigns burn damage, cleans up terrain effects, looks at Dimensional Traveler, etc.

You can set the animation speed in the options menu to "fix" this.

Also you can click during the animations to speed through them.

    Hi,
I have a similar problem, I set the animation speed, but even so I still go out of time
I'm on an old computer probably it make the problem worse
Anyway I think that it should be better if the time be stopped while the game check damages. cleans up terrain effects etc

In most cases I would expect that 20min is more then enough to play a game of CH.
So in this case animations should not be a problem, based on the old adage, a quick game is a good game.

    I agree,
but I assure you that it's very frustrating to see your time running away while the minis are put on the table, the hands of cards are drawn, the ground and damage checked and so on.
I checked and, on my old computer with the fastest animation set by options, I lost an average of 7/8 minutes each game in MP. Clearly this is not a problem in the campaign mode.
Probably it should be clearly declared what is the minimum computer configuration to have to play in MP.

the current timer system may need some improvements.

the following might be a good idea:
each round (not turn), you get 60-90 seconds bonus time.
to compensate, the starting time should be lowered by a few minutes, maybe to 15 minutes.

that way those very long matches won't end in who passes first.
(though i never had my timer run out, but i've played against people who had problems with it)
