So it finally happened to me this morning, a true milestone in online play! I killed my opponents elvish Mage and had to wait out the timer for 13 minutes lol. The funniest part it i most likely would have lost, as my warrior was down to four health and the opponent had saturated the victory room with lava and acid! Does this happen often to those of you who play MP? Cheers!
I have never had this happen to me at least but now that the floodgates are open the community is getting muddied and it will take time to clear up.
I have had an opponent quit after (s)he drew their first hand, but yet have to encounter the dreaded "long wait" tactic.
More than once, to say the least. I will say the most frustrating quit for me is the, "oh, it's you" quit. Which has happened enough times to cause me to now play +90% of my MP matches in Casual. Because, I play to, you know play. It's a game. I want to have fun. One sided victories leave a foul taste in my mouth, and I want to be challenged. I'm sorry, but Mom just doesn't do if for me. So, at least this way by playing casual matches my opponents generally don't rage quit, generally. Also, of note is that since the report function was implemented, I have yet to experience even a single "long wait" quit.
But to be fair if you never try to win you never will win. Besides i know from experience lance plays at a decent pace so it really shouldn't be 20 minutes if hes steamrolling someone to the point the match is just not enjoyable.
The reason people rage and troll you is because they can. There needs to be a redesign of the reward system: http://forums.cardhunter.com/thread...queue-times-in-mp-incentivize-resigning.2715/
I may have to start that, the other thing I don't know is if you loose connection it just hangs, or does it give out a win? I had a player a little while hand me a win as soon as I played inspiration on my Mage???? So I didn't know if it was a connection problem on their end, or they were pissed off at the extra card draw. By the way I personally will drag out a defeat as long as possible and make my opponent earn it, I don't consider it poor sportsmanship although I know people who do. I personally consider it poor sportsmanship to roll over the minute the tide of battle shifts. I love it when I get a good game through chat when the other player is overconfident and I take one or two toons with me before the battle is over. Cheers
I would say that around 1 in 5 of my games vs real people they quite within the first turn, pretty much as soon as they see my ranking. I never did, that is how i improved. I like ranked so i keep trying, but now probably 80% of my games are vs mom, probably something to do with the timezone too. I only quit if someone starts their 'talented healer ' combo vs me. I am not waiting around pressing 'pass' whilst i wait for them to kill me.
I have quit playing for the time being. Mostly because I'm not interested in playing focused healer matches (even hough I have 2 copies now) and partly because I'm waiting for the soonish reset.
