I'm surprised no one has talked about how overpowered this card is yet. This card is too strong in a game like this. If you are gonna make the character invincible atleast make him not be able to attack or move.
It's a priest only card - and it lasts for one round? It's one of the reasons people bring Priests into MP at all. I wouldn't call it op, it's however very strong - and NOT that common. Also, it can be removed by playing attachable cards so it drops off - or playing cards that remove attachment. Plan around it, instead of saying it's op.
This card is so op i mean liek what if i want to just ht stuff hard and then stuff doesnt die like wtf man hows that fair?
Uh wtf? its not removable by attaching cards to it and you wtf you mean its uncommon its possible to get 7+ of those cards in a deck. if a priest just grabs that for 7 rounds 1 of the their guys will be invincible. You guys probably use the card which is why you're defending it.
Having one guy being invincible for 7 rounds will not win you a game. And yes, you can have only 3 cards attached to a character at any given time which means the older card gets pushed out as the new ones are attached.
Dragon, it is. A character can have max 3 attachments on it, and they're sorted by age - thus you can cast other attachments on this character to have it drop off. A neat trick. No need to be agressive about it. I was trying to give you pointers about how to beat it - I don't think it's OP, and even if you can have 7 cards in a deck - you need to find the items carrying it (quite an effort, spending spree or luck).
It is removable by attaching cards to it. A maximum of 3 card can be attached at any one time. So if you attach 3 card to the priest it will fall off.
I have two priests in my main MP build, and not a single Nimbus card. Even if you don't have a way to purge it, it's too easy to just go after the other two characters or save up big attacks for the next round. Is it a nice card? Sure, but it's one among many nice cards.
really... impenetrable nimbus your warrior and have priest and mage in the back? Have your mage and warrior build pure dmg. and of course knowing a good mage will probably have some kind encumber/wall so maybe the priest deck will suffer just a little but not enough to let your warrior go in and wreck things. like i said make it possible so that impenetrable nimbus makes them not attack and move or make it one of those super rare cards like healing light
Then your warrior gets encumbered and their warrior charges your priest and mage... that nimbus is now useless. There are other cards, like Entangling Roots that have a 1 turn duration and can have a large effect on the game if played well. Nimbus is no different.
Or their wizard is playing a bunch of encumber and burning spells and pushes that Impenetrable Nimbus right off and now your warrior is stuck deep in enemy territory with no way to move. (Believe me. I've had it happen to me.) Or some card (Parry) causes your warrior to draw and you get draw three traits in a row that push that Impenetrable Nimbus right off. (I've also had this happen to me.) Good card? Yes. Overpowered card? No. I do love to use it against Mom (the AI) because she plays so stupidly, but otherwise it isn't that useful in MP because most people naturally have ways of getting around it. (As an aside, I've never seen more than two on an item and I've only ever seen it on divine weapons or divine items which means the max you could have is 10. Unfortunately, your priest would be good for nothing else since the other cards on the items I'm familiar with aren't that great.)
Try that against 2 step warriors and a controll wizard and see what happens. Your nimbus warrior will be sitting pretty and your priest or wizard will be dead. Next round it won't matter how many nimbus cards your priest has in his deck.
Impenetrable Nimbus is an excellent card - no doubt, but it can definitely be worked around. Even if you don't have Purge or something like that to remove it, all you really have to do to deal with it is kite the character that has it attached for one round. That's usually not a big deal. You can Freeze them so that they can't get close to you, or you can lift them away with Winds Of War. If your main concern is that they are a warrior with big attacks cards - you can take their cards away with Short Perplexing Ray. Lots of cards are very powerful in this game. Obliterating Bludgeon is powerful because it can kill things very quickly (even in 1 hit if it is buffed by some other card/cards); Impenetrable Nimbus is powerful because it stopped you from being killed by Obliterating Bludgeon and other attacks... Freeze is powerful because it stops characters from being able to move into position to use those cards. Purge is powerful because it can remove both Freeze and Impenetrable Nimbus! So there are a heap of very powerful cards. Players are tasked with trying to work out the strongest way to play their cards, and the best way to get past the strength their enemy's cards.
As others have stated: Had a match earlier today where my opponent rushed in and sat one priest on a victory square with impenetrable on him. I ran right past and killed his mage. Next turn he had impenetrable on his Victory Square priest again, I killed his other priest, and sat on 2 victory squares. Last turn he has Impenetrable AGAIN, I stayed on my two squares and the game was over. Every round he had impenetrable up. It helped him none.
I agree with the consensus that it is a good card but not really close to an overpowered card. I will say it is a really great card especially in single player; I give it most the credit for my first victory over the dragon. Close to death priest self Nimbus then pass to draw an invigorating touch FTW.
