I've got music and ambient volume off when I play, but starting a Ranked Match still plays that loud fanfare sound for quite a while.
Hello? Doesn't anyone think this is a problem? Should not be playing with music off, no? It's awfully loud .
Oh I see what you're saying. So with your setup, you have everything except "system sounds" silenced. Apparently the fanfare counts as a "system sound," like clicking on an ordinary button. I think somebody's mentioned this recently, and I'm unsure what the devs think of it. Personally, I'd say that if you really want to silence it, you might as well turn off all the system sounds as well (by silencing the main volume) 'cause I don't know why you'd want button clicks and not anything else to play. But that doesn't change the fact that this fanfare behaves counter to expectations.
I've complained about this, and a couple other people have too. I think the official dev response was "the sound system needs to be overhauled".
Thank you! To reply to Sir Knight: first of all I like to have basic game sounds like footsteps and attacks, secondly I sometimes switch tabs and do something else while waiting for a game or if the opponent is taking a long time. So the sounds help me to know that something's happening .
It seems I'm really unfamiliar with what these sliders do, if all the combat sounds are still active once you've silenced the other sliders. . . . What DO the other sliders do, if absolutely everything in actual game content is on the main slider? Silence a few chirping birds?
Well, music volume is music, ambient volume is indeed the chirping birds . Everything else on main slider.
