To me it seems like something is fishy here This is what happened: Riff Rumbleloins forces spells from the mind of Lord Batford Riff Rumbleloins moved. Lord Batford tries to dodge and succeeds! Lord Batford moved. Lord Batford tries to dodge and succeeds! Lord Batford moved. Lord Batford tries to duck under the attack - and succeeds, swiping the avoided attack! Counterspell was cancelled. BATTLE LOG: Scenario=Servants' Quarters,Room=BATF (Haxzploid),RoomID=80022
I haven't played much against Dodge, but I think it doesn't actually block the attack, it just causes you to move. And if you're still in range for the attack, the attack will follow you and any other blocks you're holding will trigger. Wait, did he have one or two Dodges in his hand?
I am 99% certain he only had one dodge in hand. (i should have pointed this out when creating thread) I am 100% certain he had 1 dodge card in hand when it was my turn to act (as in after the two dodges had taken place and his turn after that finished) If he used a dodge card as a normal move card in his turn, i would be amazed... I am 99% certain according to battle log he just passed. I am quite aware of the "keep" keyword. But you don't get to use the same armor to reduce damage 2 times from one source, well not using any armor i have seen so far anyway Lord Batford tries to dodge and succeeds! Lord Batford moved. Lord Batford tries to dodge and succeeds! Lord Batford moved. I don't know if it's because "Counterspell" works in a different manner than other attacks/spells, like is it because it targets the target and then targets a card in the targets hand, and when doing so creates a second situation where the character is being targeted. That's the only thing i can think of. Please let me know if I'm totally wrong here, and if battle log indicates that he infact used a dodge card as normal move in his turn. I think it happened in turn 7. perhaps the turn before that, but battlelog will contain the segment i posted above.
Oh, I see what you mean - Batford moved twice in response to just one action. Yeah that sounds like a bug. Thoughts Jon?
DWiz_test1 forces spells from the mind of Lord Batford Lord Batford tries to dodge and succeeds! Lord Batford moved. Lord Batford moved. Blackfang runs Blackfang moved. BATTLE LOG: Player=phaselock,Scenario=Batford's Sanctuary,Room=BATF (phaselock),RoomID=79,Event=PlayAction,Action=Counterspell,Instigator=DWiz_test1,Targets=Lord Batford BATTLE LOG: Player=phaselock,Scenario=Batford's Sanctuary,Room=BATF (phaselock),RoomID=79,Event=TriggerSucceed,Trigger=,TriggeringActor=Lord Batford,AffectedActors=,TriggerType=Unknown,TriggerLocation=Hand BATTLE LOG: Scenario=Batford's Sanctuary,Room=BATF (phaselock),RoomID=79,Player=Karen,Actor=Lord Batford,Event=Move,Origin=(5, 5),StartFacing=(1, 0),Destination=(5, 6),EndFacing=(0, 1) BATTLE LOG: Scenario=Batford's Sanctuary,Room=BATF (phaselock),RoomID=79,Msg=The active player is now Karen BATTLE LOG: Player=Karen,Scenario=Batford's Sanctuary,Room=BATF (phaselock),RoomID=79,Event=PlayAction,Action=Run,Instigator=Blackfang,Targets= BATTLE LOG: Scenario=Batford's Sanctuary,Room=BATF (phaselock),RoomID=79,Player=Karen,Actor=Blackfang,Event=Move,Origin=(4, 5),StartFacing=(1, 0),Destination=(5, 5),EndFacing=(1, 0) BATTLE LOG: Scenario=Batford's Sanctuary,Room=BATF (phaselock),RoomID=79,Msg=The active player is now phaselock Batford had 1 dodge in hand.
If you're still in range for the attack you can dodge multiple times (if you are holding more than one dodge card).
As i said I'm 99% certain he had one dodge card in hand. Wish i saved entire battle log so i could look it through myself. Sorry for wasting your time if he indeed had two dodge cards in hand. The thing is I'm 100% certain he only had 1 dodge card in hand when it became my turn again. So the key is to find out what he played in his turn after the log indicated him dodging two times. (i believe it was turn 6-7) BATTLE LOG: Scenario=Servants' Quarters,Room=BATF (Haxzploid),RoomID=80022 I guess in this test Lord Batford was in range/line of sight after making his dodge move? (And i know it's probably not Lord Batford, but the programming in general if this proves to be a bug that is)
You're sure it was 80022? The only instances I see of Dodge in that log are: Thork Axefreak draws Dodge. Karen plays Piercing Missile, Thork Axefreak dodges. Hrok Skullbasher gains Dodge through Thork Axefreak's Battlefield Training. Hrok Skullbasher plays Dodge (to move). I see Lord Batford with dodge in room 81893 a bit later. And yes, he did have two at one point that both succeeded (along with a duck) in one turn, and he played one of them in his next move: War Dog draws Dodge. War Dog draws Dodge. Batford raises the alarm, War Dog draws Dodge. Blackfang plays Dodge (to move). Blackfang plays Dodge (to move). Blackfang plays Dodge (to move off a hot spot). Lord Batford draws Dodge. Lord Batford plays Dodge (to move). Thork Axefreak draws Dodge. Thork Axefreak dodges Impaling Stab. Thork Axefreak dodges Strong Stab. Thork Axefreak discards Dodge. Lord Batford draws Dodge. Lord Batford discards Dodge. Lord Batford draws Dodge. Lord Batford draws Dodge. * Lord Batford dodges Counterspell. * Lord Batford dodges Counterspell again. * Lord Batford ducks Counterspell. Lord Batford plays Dodge (immediately after the Counterspell turn). Lord Batford fails to dodge Surging Blast. Lord Batford plays Dodge.
Hmmmmmmm ok i stand corrected. Actually i remember scrolling for ages, i thought the battle log just looped or something. But apparently it's because it doesn't reset between rooms. i guess my battle log must have gotten stuck somewhere in 80022 giving me false information. Sorry for wasting your time, i could have sworn i saw what i saw. Thanks for pointing it out, now i can yet again sleep at night
I'll bring that up again. It may make sense to have old battle logs clear out when a new battle starts.
It would also make sense to have a scroll bar and to automatically scroll to the most recent entries when you open the window.
To continue on that subject When you are playing a game, and it either reads "VICTORY" or "DEFEAT" you are not able to visit COMBAT LOG, not even the small combat log upper left corner. Sometimes it's semi-annoying. Specially in multiplayer.. You want to know what you did wrong and what the last X damage you took in the scenario was. I am mentioning this in case the reset of combat log between rooms becomes a reality. Dunno if I'm nitpicking here, just wanted to put it out there.
