With the way the talent system works, it can be really hard to recognize the great items for a particular slot+talent combination, so I'm interested in what items people have found to be really good. Please note pve vs pvp and classes if those are relevant. To get the ball rolling, I'm a bit surprised how consistently I equip my Glimmer Boots (in pve). I wish I had more. Especially on wizards and clerics, the squeamish is rarely a problem, and in return I get Hardy Mail for no talents. I also found a Frosty Staff in the rare items shop, and buying that was one of the easiest buying decisions I've made, and I couldn't believe my luck when I looted a True Mail - easily the best heavy armor I've seen. I'm particularly interested in good compromises for hard-to-slot spots, like no-talent racials. What are your favorites?
I don't yet have Advanced Flexibility, but I reckon it'll be one of my favourite things once I find it.
Here's a rule of thumb: Rarer items are better for their talent requirement. Epic and legendary no talent items can be better (or at least give you more without drawbacks) than common minor talent items. If your trying to find good cards for certain slot, sort that slot by rarity. The rarest cards are usually the best for the cost.
I'm finding good shoes can make or break a wizard. There is a surprising amount of position manipuation that can be found in that slot. My favorites so far are Lewin's Boots which contain Violent Spin, and Goblin Hide Boots for Muscle Through. I have to wonder if Muscle Through can be obtained with fewer power tokens, though; Has anybody seen that move on a lower level boot? I think Boots Of The Cheetah are pretty rediculous for a common item though. Two Sprints, AND Rushing Aura?
The appropriately-named Muscle Boots, for one minor power token. I got a lot of use out of that before I lost it in the beta reset. A check on the wiki item search shows this card ONLY appears at one minor power token and above. Others at the same strength include Bully Boots, Cloth Boots Of The Bull, and Hide Boots Of The Bull.
I just pulled the best wizard boots I've ever seen. Infernal Boots, with a cantrip, Violent Spin push, and a card draw card (even though it hurts). These beat out my legendary Lewin's Boots by a mile, and they aren't even as rare. Nice stuff.
My favourite Off-balance Boots, doesn't need Power Token. Drawing Wild Run will let me plonk my dwarf most placed in the field.
Interesting how many people are mentioning boots, isn't it? Right now, I'm getting a lot of mileage out of Good Spiked Boots. A LOT. You can ditch excess movement and get snazzy Armor thanks to a Common item. But in the end, I enjoy lots of items. Like the Orc Painting. I don't really have to pick and choose favorites, do I?
