When a price has been increased as a result of the level difference, show that explicitly, in red, in the tool-tip in the shop in the mouse-over text for both the summary and price. E.g. Currently, when I mouseover the the Lucent Talisman I see two popups: "Level 18 Rare Item" and "Buy Price: 800 Gold - TOO EXPENSIVE" I think a lot of confusion and misunderstanding could be avoided if these read: "Level 18 (+7) Rare Item" and "Buy Price: 800 (+700%) Gold - TOO EXPENSIVE" If there is no level penalty, the existing tooltips are fine. I'm not sure whether the second number should be "+700" or "x7" of "+700%", and any of those would be fine, I just like the percent because it's actually accurate. This suggestion assumes that I actually understand the current system. I think the way pricing works is: 1) There is a base price determined solely on rarity (I think its 5 for common, 25 for uncommon, 100 rare, 500? epic and 2500 legendary) 2) You are charged this base price again for every level higher than "you" the level is. My whole party is level 11, so the level 18 item has a times 7 penalty, for a total of an 8 times price. Please correct me if I'm wrong
That seams like a excellent suggestions and i wonder how i either missed this before or none thought about it. Either way good job.
I agree. Something like that would make the shop prices feel a lot more understandable to new players. And veterans for that matter
Yeah, I think this change might reduce the number of complaints about how cost/grind/treasure too. I suspect that at least some of those conversations are derailed by the people who have realized that all commons sell for 1 gold, and then see a +9 level common in the shop for 50.
I like the idea and it's pretty easy to do. I do wonder if people will get it though, even with this explanation.
It's a pretty unconventional system, I suspect that every little bit will help. You'd have to ask someone who doesn't understand the system yet. Do you have any fresh testers left? I think it's worth a little effort though. It's an awesome economic system.
