So, here is the question on the table: How do you feel about the current sell prices of treasure? Do you feel like your getting ripped of when you find a treasure or are you glad for the gold it will fetch you? Additionally, do you feel changing it would disrupt the current item economy?
It should increase, but not be the same price as an eaqual rarity item in the shop. Choosing and buying an item is better than looting a random one, so a Epic treasure should not be able to be sold for the buy price of an epic item. About the economy, its clearly a difficult problem. Ideally, I would like to be able to sell 2 or 3 epic treasures to buy 1 epic item. Same for legendary, rare, etc. However, at the current buying prices, by using that formulae, one single legendary treasures would then give enough gold to buy multiples epic, and numerous rares. And that's not good. For me, the ideal situation is the following possibilities: - sell 2-3 treasures to buy 1 same quality item - sell a treasure to buy 1 item of one lower tier quality
I'd rather have the pricing changed, but not >2x. Whenever I get treasure as loot, I cringe. Because I know it could've been an item. Good/bad, it doesn't matter. Anything's better than treasure(uncommon items > legendary treasure for me)
I dislike treasure. I think it's a fun concept at the beginning of the game but as the missions get harder, the treasure doesn't scale well I feel.
I voted for (d) because it made me laugh. But, seriously, I'm interested in the results of this poll.
Why bother to have them sell for gold at all? Make it so common treasures can be exchanged for common items, and so on up the line. That would make it so that: A) treasures feel worth getting, but you would still be limited to what the shops may have in stock B) not overpowered, because common treasures will never be worth more then common items and etc. Getting an Epic Treasure should feel...well....Epic. You can futher limit it by saying that Say, lvl 5 Epic Treasures can only be traded for lvl 5 and below Epic Items, etc, etc. More on this thought later, my gf wants to cuddle.
I will not vote in the poll because I don't like the choices However I agree that the treasure drops wich are purely for selling needs to scale better, and saying that I need to explain a little how I would like items selling/buying. I once sold an item for like 4 or 5 gold, now I could buy the same item from the shop at 500 gold ...eeeek! I think 1 gold a rarity level + 1 gold for each 5 lvls of item, when selling. Example: Shield uncommon lvl6, would sell for 3 gold. Sword common lvl18, would sell for 4 gold. As for buying prices I think at some point they scale too much, compared to how usable they are. I often find items of less worth which are usable, compared to some crappy ones that when sold are worth a castle should you decide to buy it back. Some more rebalancing of prices on items, as well as maybe their lvl and rarity. As an example of an epic item which I find very bad, compared to what other item there is around that lvl and rarity, is the epic loot from the first unlockable adventure/module available, ...thank got you were allowed to see what epic item it was, or would have felt very cheated, had I unlocked that adventure/module.
I always have a wry smile on my face when I see a side of ham is worth twice as much as the majority of my equipped items.
Yep, treasure sucks. Maybe a shop where you could trade the higher rarity treasure for similarly valued item would be cool. Ex. take epic treasure to shop, exchange it for a something out of a small selection of rares. Or sell it for gold if you really want that.
If I can directly refute your point, there is no practical value to a 4th robe/skill/helmet/shield, or a 10th weapon of the same type, at which point the card is half as valuable as a treasure in that slot. More generally, I suspect that in the longer term gold/treasure will become a lot more valuable. We'll compile a list of best-in-slot-for-talent cards that will be worth a truly staggering amount relative to anything else, while the value of commons and uncommons will approach their sell price as you play the game more. I think end game will look like "Play a lot and hope, and check the shops every day to see if there's something in it on your wish list". I've seen enough of this community to suspect that there will be a web tool to help you manage your wish list that will tell you when you reach the odds suggest that you should stop buying chests and build your bank to buy epic items from the shop, and it's still in beta.
