Reflecting block has a similar issue with melee as well. Bash cards with slide causes a similar effect
I bet the force bolt is considering the original caster as the source of the push. So, there's no way to push back from yourself. I think technically this might be the correct behaviour since Reflect Missile doesn't specify that the original target should be considered the new instigator of the reflected attack. However, it's clearly not the expected result.
Tested reflect missile against Bad Luck, Whirlwind Enemies, Maze, Improved Telekinesis, Entangling Roots, Winds of War, Force Cone, Force Blast and Warcry. Exceptions below: a) Warcry supercedes Reflect Missile, causing immediate discard b) Force cone and force blast exhibited same bugs as force bolt above. All others worked as expected.
Not sure. Units were facing each other, warcry is an projectile attack card. was expecting reflect missile to trigger. Could be labelled as a bug or it may have been intentionally designed as a card with no counter, shrugs. This is clearly a design/balance case, subjected to gen pop feedback.
No, I think this is the issue that we discussed in that feedback thread: like Staggering Blow, War Cry uses the word "immediately." Play either of these cards on an enemy and you learn that "immediately" is the keyword for "this effect occurs before any triggered effects, and thus is the only way to counter a Block." Because of possible confusion, I'd encourage "immediately" to be an actual keyword that explains how this behavior is intended.
Ah, yes...I recall that thread. Yes, you are right...going by card effect, warcry is indeed wai. I suppose players could pack warcrys against war monkeys/goblins/wisps. If enuff of gen pop do that, wouldn't that make those advs a walk in the park ?
I guess the best response to that is "try and find out." It's just another strategy: either you bypass Blocks by movement, you flush out enemy Blocks with weak attacks, or you force discard of enemy Blocks. Now look at your card suites and tell me if one or another of those strategies is best. Me, I can equip a maximum of two War Cry cards per character, because they're only on my Helmets. So do I equip Bellowing Helm when facing Goblins? Heck yes.
WC is a single card disabler, movement requires pincers, flushing out blocks translate to longer games. Which takes longer to setup ? The longer it takes, the less efficient and popular that strat becomes. Ugh, sounds like a template build...one of the many banes of CCGs, meh. Me, I'd rather suggest a nerf/re-design to WC.
