There've been many threads about "I purchased a chest, grabbed the first item, and then suddenly had the chest close on me before I could grab anything else!" (e.g., over here). I've now had it happen enough that I can replicate it. Go to Anjin's Treasures and: 1). Buy either a Simple or Ornate Chest (I don't have enough Pizza to test the other ones, but evidence suggests they are different). Let the items fall, but DO NOT click-and-drag or ctrl-click them. Hit "Take All and Reset" instead. 2). Repeat 1 as much or as little as you want. All purchases will work without error. 3). Buy either a Simple or Ornate Chest again. Let the items fall, and DO click-and-drag or ctrl-click one of them. The chest will close suddenly. To replicate the error, it is essential that you start your purchasing with "Take All and Reset": if your first purchases are dragged manually, then nothing you do (on this visit) will cause an error. If you leave and return, the pattern begins again, and you can replicate or avoid the error as you wish. More amusement: After having the chest close, you run into serious weirdness if you keep buying more chests. The "missing item" will appear on the outside of your next chest, but clicking it will cause the entire next chest to vanish and be replaced with the list of chests available for purchase. If you buy another chest at this point, the game hangs (the screen dims slightly and the loading animation runs forever). If you don't click on your newly-reappeared "missing item," and instead open your next chest, the "Take All and Reset" button will vanish. AND THEN manually collecting any item will cause the chest to close, allowing you to loop through this pattern and get a crazy build-up of "missing items." This method does not cause the system to hang. NONE of the above errors happen in Chest and Barrel; only Anjin's Treasures (I have not tested the Multiplayer Chest Shop). Swapping back and forth between the two locations during an Anjin error caused yet more problems at Anjin's that I don't have the gold to test. For one, the entire list of chests available for purchase vanished, leaving me with only my characters and inventory. (The visual described over here.) Apologies for redundancy on the parts that other people have reported. (Repeatedly.)
No, see, Wozarg, your descriptions aren't NEARLY that vague, incoherent, OR nonsensical. I could show you some vague incoherent nonsensical descriptions, believe me. Also, mmm, deification. Been deified before; it can be great fun. The problem comes when people light incense and then act like you now owe their broken leg a miracle or their annoying neighbor a new haircut.
These bugs are latent and single instance driven. Is it possible to allow 'load x gold/pizza' from console for beta testers ? There are still lotsa stuff to test but w/o simple command line driven configs, its just unnecessarily time-consuming. edit: if its really not in the gameplan to allow arbitrary gold/pizza load anymore, perhaps it would be easier to throw us a couple of items that sell for 500 gold in inv. Hope it helps.
Last week I took out the auto-close feature entirely, as I think it's too dangerous to have in there. Now you have to manually reset each purchased chest before buying another.
