Terrain vs Attachment - trigger order?

Is it only me, or does terrain sometimes trigger before for instance Dimensional Traveller - and sometimes after? Had my dwarf with the trait attached just take 10 damage before it triggered.

Maybe it's the age of the attachments or random or something - as they both trigger in the same phase here. I'm sure I've been able to get out terrain damage at other times - consistency would be nice :)

    Code:
    BATTLE LOG: Scenario=MP Cave,Room=pengw1n vs Amy,RoomID=3053,Msg=Turn Complete
    BATTLE LOG: Scenario=MP Cave,Room=pengw1n vs Amy,RoomID=3053,Msg=Starting round 4
BATTLE LOG: Scenario=MP Cave,Room=pengw1n vs Amy,RoomID=3053,Event=Attachment Phase Initiated
    BATTLE LOG: Player=Amy,Scenario=MP Cave,Room=pengw1n vs Amy,RoomID=3053,Event=TriggerSucceed,Trigger=Wall of Fire,TriggeringActor=[Null],AffectedActors=Prof Dwarfatron,TriggerType=StartTurn,TriggerLocation=SquareAttachment
BATTLE LOG: Scenario=MP Cave,Room=pengw1n vs Amy,RoomID=3053,Msg=Prof Dwarfatron took 10 damage
    BATTLE LOG: Player=Amy,Scenario=MP Cave,Room=pengw1n vs Amy,RoomID=3053,Event=TriggerSucceed,Trigger=Dimensional Traveller,TriggeringActor=[Null],AffectedActors=,TriggerType=StartTurn,TriggerLocation=ActorAttachment
    BATTLE LOG: Scenario=MP Cave,Room=pengw1n vs Amy,RoomID=3053,Player=pengw1n,Actor=Prof Dwarfatron,Event=Move,Origin=(8, 2),StartFacing=(0, -1),Destination=(8, 3),EndFacing=(0, 1)

This is interesting, because I had forgotten I wrote this: the starting player's attachments all get triggered first each round. So, in the case that you are describing I'm guessing Amy got to play first in that round.

So basically, if it had been my wizard standing om my terrain tile - this wouldn't have occured? I think order of attachments should be type tbh, rather than by who's turn it is. Or do you count that as part of the "passing" meta-game?

I have to agree with pengw1n as i have been having lots of trouble figuring out triggers and such already it would be very good if they triggered as either ground or attachments first with the starting player being the first on each trigger round.

Also which character triggers their attachments first?
When you've got one character with a Healing Aura and one set to burn to death it can go either way and I'm most sure why yet?

I feel Wozarg is correct in regards to grouping the attachments. Terrain by first player first, then effects, just for a more consistent feel

I'm 90% sure about this ( made up numbers yay! ) but i think the one closest to the corner pointing at you triggers first.

That matches my observation, mostly watching terrain, that it starts in the bottom corner of the board (presumably 0,0) and proceeds up the side to the rightmost corner. Then it scans the next row to the left, still bottom to top, and so on. Although I would make up a less certain number, maybe 85.6%.

I agree it would be easier to understand if all terrain was grouped, but I think it should be done after attachments. Getting out of lava is one of the most important uses of Dimensional Traveller.

I'd also be OK with doing player 1's attachments, then terrain, then player 2. Thus, keeping terrain as part of the passing meta-game.

And regardless of what order it happens in, I'd like to see a visual marker to show which effects (both terrain and attachments) have triggered already.

All good points. I'm just chiming in to confirm that the bottom-most corner on your screen is indeed 0,0
