Well, I kinda expected it given how adventures go...

But items that isn't looted from chest will be lost forever, and Gary never give you so much a warning about it.

I think Gary should warn you about it at least for the first time you have items left in the chest, and consider it fair play afterward since he's already mentioned it.
That or items not taken are automatically sold.

Were the items you left rare and above or uncommons/commons ? Gary is supposed to prompt if you are do not loot rare and above stuff in chests. I do agree that Gary should warn for the 1st time, tho. Hope it helps. :)

I guess Gary is a take on the creator of D&D Gary Gygax, I got passed the first 2 battles with someone else's characters and stopped there cause I didnt wanna go through another battle with the server crash. I'll watch some netflix while I wait for the server to be back up again.

@Phaselock: I didn't want to try it with things that's worth a lot (epic treasures are like 50g isn' it?) so I left a common item (1g) inside the chest and noted my gold.

It remained the same so while it wasn't a massive gold loss, I still would've preferred to be warned on my first time.

I can confirm that Gary gives you a warning on exit if you've left rare item(s) in a chest.

    Yes, he does warn you.

But other than that, yeah, lots of folks have been talking about the looting system. Blue Manchu has set up this sequence--open chest, watch items appear, manually move items into inventory, have the opportunity to equip immediately--as part of the "feel" of the game, giving the loot more substance than just a few lines of text you can click through. After all, if you don't manually inspect the items then you don't know the card suites attached, so new players need encouragement to do so.

Some folks (understandably) get annoyed at this when items are lost. Other folks (less-understandably) don't like the mechanic at all and want to auto-sell all the "junk" they receive. One time it came up, I posted this as a suggestion:

@Sir Knight: He only warn you if it's a rare or higher, which I can understand for long term, but I think a first time (kinda like in tutorial) someone does it he should give one quick warning that the loots won't be taken nor is it sold.

The whole GM being secretly a jerk to players is acceptable (heck, after one warning him never ever warn you'd be acceptable too) lore-wise, and adventurers seeing loots and being able to use it right away will be right at home to those who ever play RPGs (especially when you find those overpowered weapon you heard of from FAQs XD)

Oh, I was just backing up what Skip_Intro said. I know Gary doesn't for lower rarities.

And ideally the GM wouldn't be a jerk. He's your friend. Right? Your friend . . .

    Right . . .

I wouldn't trust any GM that hold out one move card every time I draw Wall of Fire, but then mockingly use move cards 3 times in a row whenever I don't and I'm just skipping to get to next round. 'A ' (E.V.E.R.Y. T.I.M.E.)

Off-topic: Why do they have Flimsy Block as one of the early blocks but make just about every early adventure enemies have Simple Strike or better...
(It's ok during Ruby Demon Portal, but that's about it that I've seen...)

You'll keep meeting a lot of those enemies, so it's more about their deck being the same (and you might not be able to block it properly atm) - just more challenging due to how many minions it is, or what other monsters it is paired with.

Ooh, don't forget: when it says "any" (in "Block any with damage 2 or less") it really means it, including magic spells that deal zero damage. Think about all the nasty things you don't want attached to you: Flimsy Block stops them just fine.
