Acorns are the most powerful weapon in the game? I fight through kobolds and trogs and undead and beings straight from the elemental plane of fire, and then the top level dungeons are all monkeys and trees throwing acorns at me for twice the damage of a spear. Acorns.
Its all about the velocity it is thrown at as long as the object it self isn't torn apart by the g-force it can most definitely be lethal on impact. Besides these are clearly magical acorns since they can explode!
They should totally make the art for the 8 damage blast 2 acorn a acorn with the radioactive sign on the side
You guys misjudge what happens. The acorns do maybe 1-2 points of damage, but the ravenous squirrels which follow and mass the area consume all and collectively destroy your hit points.
I've been hit with acorns before. I've also been stabbed. And shot. Until I played this game, I was certain which of those I would rather have happen again. Now? Well, my preference has changed. Since I'm here... those acorn attacks are ridiculous. And not in the "haha that was fun" kind of way. :| Oaken Heart is the only adventure I've ever spent anything on for a Revive; I've always just restarted the whole adventure before. Made it to the last level (on, I believe, my second complete restart) before again being torn to shreds through each of my free retries. There was no possible chance I was going to repeat those other stages again. Even if it had been actual non-Beta pizza bought with real money, the cost was insignificant compared to the prospect of ever facing those trees again... which I guess is good news for Blue Manchu?
This game requires strategy change with different adventures. You need to find places to hide to avoid line of sight. You can't just run out into the open and expect the monkeys to sit around and let you hack them to death.
I think the thread just got steered away from the original intent. I don't care about the adventure. I care that my 18th level party who have beaten demons and dragons are dying to an acorn to the head. An acorn. The most powerful enemy attack is an acorn.
Actually as early as level 3 there are mobs with at least 11 damage attacks so you are incorrect on that part.
I guess the people complaining about acorns have never been beaten by 10 goblins at lv 2 in a DnD campaign. Lets just say that was a quick reroll for the group
While this is two different games, that is still a funny scenario. I'm sure if you imagine that the acorns are bowling ball size then it makes more sense. They are strong monsters indeed and fie clenses all.
