More like a full on face mask, by that point. :p
    Hmm.

    Opportunist's Visor?

  2. I think that if safety glasses can save you from getting shot in the face at point-blank range with a nailgun, they can probably provide a point of armor. Opportunist's visor is fine too though. :D

Mostly, I was trying keep the designs within a fantasy setting. Though, goggles'd work if you want to keep the roll range small (eg, 6+), since they cover so little of the face. I'm sure you could work them into EttSC's framework.
I also didn't realize you'd moved into full polycarbonate safety goggles, since you were still referring to them as eyeglasses. :)

  4. You forced me to shift with your questions about the armor potential of glasses. I was backed into a metaphorical corner. Lol. The only road besides surrender was towards the ETTSC theme, and lord knows I could never surrender an argument.

In Cardhuntria, that's usually about the point where everything catches on fire.

  6. Even regular glasses might have a little value against certain attacks, like acid jet, but in general, you are correct, they are probably worthless. Perhaps you could just have a feature like this to avoid saying "armor 0"
When you take damage, discard this card. Roll 5+, saving roll.

  7. I'm more of a berserk spin kinda guy, but yeah.

Again, the armor bit was intentionally and solely there to allow people to target the [eyeglasses] with dissolve, boil, and sunder (and for the sake of harness synergy, in the first example). You can safely remove the armor effect otherwise- the Saving Roll keyword already exists, so there's no need to add in activation or armor elements to mimic it to begin with, if we're not wanting to add those extra removal options.

I finally did it. I voted Utility. The forthcoming outright unique creativity got to me.

That revealed the results to me so far. They're very interesting. ~nod~

My Boost concepts actually started to sway me from Utility, but Outmanuever brought me back into the fold. :'P
But really, it could go awesomely either way. =O

  11. I'm going for boost because I like the idea of helmets having intrinsic properties, not just powers that can be expended, and voting for armor is probably throwing my vote away at this point.

New card : Boost. Silver quality, Rare. "Prescience" : add 1 to your block rolls. Keep.

Folks were talking about it earlier in the thread so I should clarify:

Walpurgis Night should be a Utility, not an Attack. This was an oversight. We can't change it before tomorrow's release, but hopefully we can correct it in the next patch.

That expands our pool of expectations toward utility cards rather nicely.

Okay, everyone, you heard Flax- he clearly just said "Vote Utility, get cool transformation powers".

Hell, let's combine it all together:

"Battle Focus: Utility|Boost When played, attach to self. While attached, you gain +2 to damage and die rolls, but cannot defend against non-damaging effects and non-targeting damage effects. Any time you would draw a card that is neither an attack or armor card, discard that card and instead place a random melee attack into your hand. Duration 2."

Well, that, or we try and convince Blue Manchu that letting warriors shapeshift into Oozes makes absolutely perfect sense.

I would like to see something like this card.

    Name:
Laser pointer, Laser sight or Holo-viewer (something like that)
    Expansion:
[IMG] Expedition to the Sky Citadel (something sci-fi like)
Colour Class: Assist (don't know if that's right should it be a booster)
Attack Type: Magic (also not sure about that)
    Damage Type: Holy
Play effect 1: Attach this card to yourself. When you attack, add 1 (could be more or you roll a dice to find out) range to that attack (yes, that includes melee attacks) also add (unblockable or piercing or both) then reduce this card's duration by 1.
    Duration: 4 (or 3)

What do you others thing about this card i.e. is it overpowered and what are it's chances of being made.

If you don't know by now this is an offensive type of Force Field (by it can not better Fours Filed on its own)

In short it increases the rang of attack cards and makes them harder to stop from hitting you.

And note if this card was made and hade piercing a card with out that could now do piercing attacks and get a buff from cards that up piercing cards i.e. Bludgeon cards get a buff from more the on sores.

I've actually already made the suggestion of a +1 range to projectile/magic attack cards trait for elves in the past, though I forget what downside I added to it. I still think that's a better place for the trait, since it helps make up for the weakness elves have in health while emphasizing their better control (but not necessarily potency) of magic [and bows, but it's not like we currently really have all that many projectiles to worry about, other'n shout cards].

As far as a +1 range to all attacks, that's quite potent in its own right, and doesn't need any extra boosts to be worth slotting. Adding something like that could make an interesting inclusion, to be sure, though it's a bit tricky coming up with a lore concept that would justify boosting melee attack distance. Applying it as a Battle Rage/Blind Rage type effect is definitely interesting as well, if only because so far all boosts of that sort are solely duration based, rather than also having an activation limit (like Force Field).

Of course, if we're discussing attack range, I'm still not sure why Laser Whip doesn't pull enemies to you when you hit them with it.. :(

P.S. I think you're confusing piercing and penetrating in a few places? =O

Is an assist, not a boost. :p
But past that intention in my phrasing, it's also a priest buff, not a warrior buff, and more a defense counter than an offense boost, so it still has a different vibe. :)

No big deal, but fwiw, Robo11500 did see it as Assist in the first place, apparently with the intention that you choose when to play it on yourself unlike a Trait. (Much like the compared Force Field.)
