I've always hoped Cardhunter would continue to offer more variety. One idea of how to do that without totally breaking the balance or creating a new set of items, or adding more cards to the deck would be as follows: Create two new sub-races within each race. So instead of a Dwarf skill one could have a Halfling skill or a Gnome skill. Instead of an Elf skill one could have a High Elf skill or a Dark Elf skill. Instead of a Human skill one could have ? or ?. We've already talked about creating sub-classes and I think the easiest way to do this in a balanced way would be to add a new option along each line of skills: martial, arcane, and divine. Instead of Martial, one could have the long awaited rogue skill with pickpocket and such. Instead of Arcane, one could have the long awaited ranger skill with penetrating arrow and such. Instead of Divine, one could have ? with ??. Or to fill in my own blanks above, we could have the new human skills be rogue and ranger though I'm sure that would seem a little racist since elf and dorf players would probably like to rogue as much as the next man.
Races only have one item slot. So what's the point of having sub classes in races? Like if you want a rogue elf, why not just have a rogue elf skill item?

To blindly accept that the game is perfect and doesn't need changing is to me the most dangerous thing. So I appllaud your efforts and contribution, some great ideas there and I hope the devs will use some of these as inspiration for some future changes. It can be easy to criticise new suggestions, but then to explore them a litlte, give them some breathing space, though maybe challenging at first, but can lead to some great new approaches. Edit: I'd also like to see some dark plriest class with ploison attacks thrown in. poison +accel time = more fun and variety than just fire-based accel time builds
@LieutenantCommanderData I know this is horribly unbalanced. I'm just trying to continue the conversation about how to keep cardhunter dynamic, changing, novel. Perhaps I'll ask @pandawan to try this for his next ozolya's challenge: Make three closely balanced racial traits OR make three closely balanced class traits that utilize new cards. You'll also notice I suggested for these new cards to be mixed in with current stuff. That would help the balance some. Admittedly, it needs more work but I'm trying to start the conversation on this. (or continue it.)
